SIGNED CONTRACTS DURING THE EXHIBITION

On September 7-9, 2011, Astana was hosting the 8th Kazakhstan International Health Exhibition - AstanaZdorovie 2011.

The exhibition was organised by Iteca Kazakhstan Exhibition Company jointly with its international partners, ITE Group Plc (UK), GIMA (Germany), and ITE China (China).

Official support for the exhibition was provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Astana City Akimat (Administration), Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, PharmMed Industry of Kazakhstan - Association of Manufacturers of Pharmaceutical and Medical Products of Kazakhstan, National Medical Association, and National Scientific Medical Centre.

General Sponsor of the Exhibition: AlmasX Joint-Stock Company, with the Mindray brand.

The official opening ceremony was attended by guests of honour and organisers: Erik Baizhunusov, Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Serik Yegelyevich Sultanov, President, PharmMed Industry of Kazakhstan - Association of Manufacturers of Pharmaceutical and Medical Products of Kazakhstan, member of the Business Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Ye. Birtanov, Chairman of the Board, National Medical Holding JSC; A. Segizbayeva, Head, Astana City Office for Health; Mieczysław Lapanowski, Trade Commissioner of the Republic of Poland in the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Anastasia Romashkina, AstanaZdorovie Project Manager, ITECA LLP.

According to Mr. Baizhunusov, Vice Minister of Health, the role of AstanaZdorovie is important for Kazakhstan. Current medicine presumes improvement of new technologies and introduction of new diagnostic and treatment systems. Kazakhstan aims to introduce all of the world’s new technologies and maintain the existing resources and materiel. In the past five years, the Government has assigned more than 80 billion tenge for the equipment purchase. This trend will continue in the future. A new model has been designed to provide hospitals with medical equipment which will allow suppliers to work directly with medical institutions through the leasing system. Mr. Sultanov, President, PharmMed Industry of Kazakhstan - Association of Manufacturers of Pharmaceutical and Medical Products of Kazakhstan, said: “AstanaZdorovie is especially important in view of the Forced Innovative Development Programme signed by the President of Kazakhstan. Ten new plants are being built in the pharmaceutical industry under this Programme. In the past two years, the output has doubled. Thanks to such exhibitions – and you’ll hear more about it – foreign investors from famous European brands are coming to three local factories with their technologies and investment.”

It is well worth mentioning that AstanaZdorovie is rightly considered to be a respected specialised exhibition in Kazakhstan. This is confirmed by a steady growth and close cooperation with companies which exhibit regularly. This year’s exhibition area exceeded 2,000 sq. m. Exhibitors included more than 100 companies from 13 countries such as Austria, Belarus, China, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, UAE, and US.

70% of all exhibitors were local Kazakhstan companies, 22% – companies from the CIS countries, and 8% – foreign companies.

During its three days, AstanaZdorovie 2011 was visited by 2,739 registered specialists.
