BALTIC MARINE FESTIVAL
The Baltic Marine Festival will take place from May 31st to June 3rd in Lenexpo. This is the third time the organisers will carry out the project in a new festival format, with entertainment events in the programme. From now on, it’s not only a specialised exhibition with a business programme but also a large-scale city celebration.
The Baltic Marine Forum originates from the St. Petersburg Boat Show, an international specialised yacht exhibition. For 16 years, the exhibition has become an important sector event, and it confirmed its high status this year with the approval of UFI Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
140 models of new yachts and motor boats will be presented during the festival gathering over 100 companies from Russia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Slovakia.
The exposition will be divided into three sections: the models of well-known national and foreign sailing and motor craft manufacturers will be displayed in the open air both afloat and ashore, while the indoor pavilion will accommodate equipment for water sports and recreation.
The most spectacular part of exposition will be in the water area. This is where the market leaders will present their new models, with some of them available for a test drive. New large and expensive yachts such as Sunseeker and Princess, large Wave 58 and Lagoon catamarans, Flabria and Delphia sailing yachts and high-speed HT-Laser and Alter Baltic boats are also expected to come.
Key Russian participants will be represented by Admiralty Shipyards, Laky Verf and the manufacturers of small popular boats such as Trident, MG-Boat, Mnev, Spev, Silver and many others. Famous foreign brands will include Paradise sail catamarans of Finnish C-Adventure. Ltd, yachts of Flabria and Delphia boatyards from Poland and large Wave 58 sail catamaran.
Baltic Marine Group will present the latest models of Crestliner fishing and sports boats.
S. Marine-Yachts, a dealer of Marquis in Russia, will offer the guests of the Baltic Marine Festival the yachts of this famous brand with over 200 years of history.
Many foreign crafts will arrive at the exhibition by water. According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian inland waterways will be open for foreign sports and pleasure boats starting May 25th. The Baltic Marine Festival will be the first Russian official event where the new Decree will be first applied.
The indoor exposition in the pavilion will offer a collective stand of Poland companies wishing to enter the Russian market: Polska Izba Przemysłu Jachtowego i Sportów Wodnych, Balt-yacht K. A. i B. Kozłowscy, Acuarius Consulting, Eljacnt Jerzy Jankowski, PPO Holm Construction Ltd Sp. z.o. o, Sail Service Sp. z.o. o, Famor S. A. and 3oceans Sp. z o. o. Their presentations will be supported by the Trade and Investment Promotion Section of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in St. Petersburg and Atlas Business Service.
AMG, an authorised distributor of one of global leaders in motor oils and lubricants Motul, will present the Marine line of oils for water motor transport. A major player on the Russian navigation market, Transas Group will display its latest offers, too.
The business programme of the festival will include a seminar for the captains and owners of small boats. Its goal is to inform the captains of amendments to the current laws and regulations, to ensure the navigation safety and to prevent law breaking in the Gulf of Finland. The seminar will bring together the representatives of the State Small Boat Inspectorate of the EMERCOM of Russia, the Association of Small Boat Owners, the administration of the Big Port of Saint Petersburg, and businesses. The leading developers and dealers of navigation equipment and software (C-Map, Navionics, Transas, Navico, Garmin, Raymarine, Lowrance, Ilada, etc.) will report on the manufacturing technologies for electronic navigational charts and the innovations. The participants will pay special attention to the safe use of electronic navigational aids in the small-sized fleet.
One of the leading importers of marine and industrial engines in Russia, the CIS and Baltic countries, Marine Technics JSC and the major German mechanical engineering company MAN will hold a seminar on Modernisation of High-Speed Passenger Fleet. The participants will discuss the topical issues of high-speed passenger fleet update (such vessels as Meteor, Kometa and Voskhod). The seminar will gather the ship owners, the representatives of design bureaus, shipyards and public organisations, and the members of regional and federal committees. The discussions shall result in suggestions for high-speed passenger traffic development that will be addressed to the Ministry of Transport and the Government of the Russian Federation.
The Baltic Marine Festival is known for its diverse entertainment programme. The water area of Lenexpo Complex will be in the thick of impressive, spectacular events. The boat and yacht parade from Lenexpo to the city centre and back will open the water programme of the festival. Nina Abrosova, a finalist of the world motor boat championship and a world boxing champion will lead the parade.
Those who are fond of sea and sails will enjoy the LASER SB20 regatta which will include 5 short course series for 5 yachts. LASER is one of the most popular classes of yachts that take part in the various races all over the world.
Sport Army will present Jetlev-Flyer in a breathtaking aqua show. Jetlev-Flyer is called a “flying backpack”: powered by giant water jets, it lifts a pilot over the water up to 10 m high and reaches 75 km/h. The demonstration will take place in the water area.
The winners of the small national vessel competition will be named at the Annual Marine Award. The project designed to enhance the development of small shipbuilding is carried out under the auspices of the Vasileostrovsky District Administration of St. Petersburg.
Maximum Live concert featuring such growing bands as I. O.W. A., Progulshchiki and Toch-v-Toch will be a highlight of the entertainment programme. Other events include traditional international stand boat model making competition, yachting demonstration lessons and exhibition performance of marine rescue services.
