ADMISSION PROCEDUREfor foreign citizens in 2012/2013 academic yearat PACIFIC NATIONAL UNIVERSITY |
A foreign student wishing to apply for admission to Pacific National University in 2012/2013 academic year
has to submit the following documents by July 15th, 2012:
- filled in Application Form for Admission;
- copy of educational document (see below point 1), notarized and legalized in home country, including a page with the legalization mark – NOT REQUIRED FOR THOSE WHO APPLY FOR THE PREPARATORY RUSSIAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM;
- Russian translation of an educational document, certified by the translator;
- copy of international passport picture page – PASSOPRT MUST BE VALID AT LEAST UNTIL MAY 25th 2014;
- copy of previous Russian visa, if available – NOT REQUIRED FOR CHINESE CITIZENS;
- Russian translation of a passport picture page, certified by the translator of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in home country – NOT REQUIRED FOR CHINESE CITIZENS AND THOSE WHO HAVE A COPY OF RUSSIAN VISA;
- copy of payment document confirming the transfer of the application fee to the PNU bank account (3500 rubles) – HAS TO BE PAID IN RUSSIAN RUBLES IN THE TERRITORY OF RUSSIA.
The mentioned above documents should be e-mailed at *****@ or submitted to the Office for Int’l Educational Programs, Department for International Affairs, PNU (see the address below).
Within 2 weeks after receiving the full set of the indicated above documents the admission committee of PNU informs a foreign student about the decision on the possibility of admission or rejection of such a possibility indicating the cause of rejection.
In case of admission, the PNU admission committee informs the foreign student about the entrance exams and sends a draft of the contract for study at PNU in academic year, as well as visa supporting documents (see the information in “Visa Requirements and Registration” section) .
The academic year at PNU begins on September 8th, 2012.
A foreign applicant must submit the following documents
UPON HIS/HER ARRIVAL AT THE UNIVERSITY:
1. original educational document of Russian national standard or original educational document with awarded degree and official transcript to it, issued in a foreign country with a list of studied subjects, total amount of class hours, credits, number of study weeks, received final grades, explanation for grading system, list of practical trainings, course papers and final qualification theses:
- for entrants to the first year of study under the Bachelor or Specialist Degree Programs – the document of full secondary general education or secondary professional education;
- for entrants to the second and the following years of study under the Bachelor or Specialist Degree Programs - the document of full secondary general education or secondary professional education, as well as academic transcript on unfinished higher education or diploma on the finished four-year education without conferring the Bachelor degree;
- for entrants to the Master’s degree program – Bachelor’s or Specialist’s diploma;
- for entrants to the Ph. D. degree program – Master’s or Specialist’s diploma;
2. copy of an educational document and official transcript to the educational document, notarized and legalized in the country of issue – THOSE WHO APPLY FOR THE PREPARATORY RUSSIAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM DON’T NEED TO PROVIDE A LEGALIZATION MARK;

4. Certificate of successful completion of the pre-University training course or the Pre-University Department – NOT REQUIRED FOR THOSE WHO APPLY FOR THE PREPARATORY RUSSIAN LANGUAGE PROGRAM;
5. copy of payment document confirming the transfer of the tuition fee for 2012/2013 academic year – HAS TO BE PAID IN RUSSIAN RUBLES IN THE TERRITORY OF RUSSIA;
6. copy of international passport picture page;
7. copy of Russian entrance visa;
8. medical certificate, certifying absence of medical contraindications for studying (including the results of blood test for Anti-HIV (AIDS) and Syphilis (VDRL); results of Chest X-Ray test), with Russian translation, certified by the translator of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in home country or translator of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Khabarovsk (see the address below) – THE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE MUST BE ISSUED AT LEAST 2 MONTH PRIOR TO SUBMISSION OF THE DOCUMENTS;
9. copy of health and life insurance, valid in Khabarovsk region – INSURANCE MUST BE VALID TILL THE END OF JUNE, 2013;
10. 4 color photos sized 3x4 cm.
Foreign citizens who apply for Bachelor, Master and Ph. D. degree Programs must legalize the educational documents (see point 1) in country of issue. Legalization mark:
for Chinese citizens – mark provided by the Chancellery of Foreign Affairs of PRC province and stamp is provided by Consulate of the Russia in Shenyang or by Embassy of Russia in Beijing;
for Japanese citizens and Republic of Korea citizens ─ apostil provided by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan or Korea;
for citizens of other countries ─ please, consult at the Office for Int’l Educational Programs, Pacific National University.
ENROLLMENT TO THE UNIVERSITY is carried out on basis of the documents presented by a student (see above), entrance exams( not required for those who apply for the Preparatory Russian Language Program and for 2nd, 3rd, 4th years of study of Bachelor or Specialist Degree Programs), signed study contract and paid tuition fee.
