«Christmas Time»
Цели:
1.Обучающие: систематизировать и проверить знаний учащихся по теме «Праздники».
2.Развивающие: развивать творческие способности учащихся;
развивать навыки устной речи, чтения, аудирования.
3.Воспитательные: воспитывать культуру общения, дисциплину.
прививать интерес к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
Дополнительные пособия: презентация мероприятия, кассеты с записями английских песен, декорации к празднику.
Ход мероприятия.
T: Good morning, students! (Слайд1)
What date is it today? What holiday shall we have soon? Do we celebrate any other holidays in winter? When do we celebrate Christmas? When do British people celebrate Christmas? (Слайд 2) Today we shall speak about this holiday. The students of your classes will help me to make this holiday more interesting and funny.
(Слайд №3 «Зимний пейзаж». Исполняется танец «Снежинок». В конце танца дети расстилают большой кусок синтепона.)
1st child: (машет рукой) Come here! The weather is fine today!
2nd child: The sun is shining brightly!
3rd child: The sky is blue!
4th child: There is much snow on the ground!
5th child: (Слайд4)
The North wind does blow
And we have much snow.
And what do the children
Do then, poor things?
When lessons are done
They skip, jump and run
Until they are warm,
Poor things.
6th child: Let’s make a snowman! (Дети заворачивают «Снеговика» в синтепон. Становятся в круг.)
Choir: (слайд 5) We shall make a snowman big and round, big and round.
We shall put the snowman on the ground, on the ground.

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul

4th child: And I have some crackers and paper chains. OK?
5th child: The Christmas tree is usually crowned with a figure of a Christmas angel.
6th child: How I like Christmas time! The streets are decorated with illumination.
1st child: My mother always makes the Christmas Wreath with holly branches

2nd: And I usually hang a stocking on our fireplace and wait for Santa Claus. (Слайд11)

T: I am sure, Santa will be coming soon. But now let us speak about Christmas traditions.
Christmas is a religious holiday. It is the day on which Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a happy holiday. Families come together to share their happiness, attend church and exchange gifts. Cities and towns in England are decorated with Christmas trees, colored lights. The traditional colors for this holiday are red and green. Families prepare for this holiday weeks before. They make special foods. Christmas cards are sent to friends and relatives. Children hang up stockings to receive gifts from Santa Claus. (Слайд 12)
The Christmas story comes from the Bible. The baby Jesus was born in a stable. His mother was the Virgin Mary and his father was Joseph. Because of this event the Christians celebrate Christmas.

1st child: Oh, wait a minute! I hear Jingle Bells! Santa Claus is coming!
2nd child: But I see three Santas. What are they doing?

And don’t forget ”Thank You”.

T: Christmas is a family holiday. All relatives come together to have Christmas dinner. (Слайд 17)
The traditional food is Christmas turkey and Christmas pudding. (Слайд 18).
During Christmas time all people sing carols – special Christmas songs.
