Economy of Great Britain

Great Britain — the advanced industrial country, is included into the first five of the most devel­oped states of the world. On stocks of power resources Great Britain wins first place in Europe and is the large manufacturer of oil and gas.

For it prevalence of free private business is characteristic. The private sector provides over 75 % of all workplaces. The policy of the British government is directed on creation of as much as possible fa­vorable possibilities for development of private business.

Great Britain in the international division of labor acts as the supplier industry production. The economic role of Great Britain in the modern world is defined not only industrial, but also bank, in­surance and another commercial activity. About 30 % of its total national product ar­rives from processing about industry and 45 % — from the sphere of service including transport and communication, retail trade, insurance, banks and other financial institutions, public health services and formation. The agriculture share — to 3 % and a mining industry — to 1,4 % has decreased.

The important income item of the British international monopolies was and there is a capital ex­port in other countries.

Great Britain, having lost almost all colonies, has lost many economic advantages: control over the richest world deposits.
