Цели урока:

Учебный аспект: расширить знания обучающихся об англо-говорящих странах.

Развивающий аспект: развивать умение монологической речи (рассказ) на основе прочитанного текста.

Воспитательный аспект: развивать интерес к изучению английского языка; формировать положительную мотивацию к изучению языка.

Задачи урока:

1.  Повторить названия англо-говорящих стран, языков, национальностей.

2.  Совершенствовать умение чтения с извлечением конкретной информации.

3.  Развивать умение монологической речи (рассказ) на основе прочитанного.

4.  Развивать умение аудирования с целью понимания конкретной информации.

Форма организации деятельности учащихся: Фронтальная, групповая и парная.

Оборудование: политическая карта мира, карточки с названиями стран, эмблемы и флаги англо-говорящих стран, презентация Power Point.


Ход урока

1. Организационный момент.

- Good morning, children. Good morning guests. Nice to see you again. How are you?

- (We are fine. Thank you. And how are you?).

- I’m fine too. Thank you. And let’s begin our lesson.

2. Определение темы урока.

- Children, look at the maps, name the countries and try to guess the theme of our lesson today, please.

НЕ нашли? Не то? Что вы ищете?

- You are right, you see the maps of New Zealand, Canada, Australia, the UK, the USA and the flags of these countries. And what language do people speak in these countries?

- You are quite right. They speak English. So, tell me, please, how do we call all the countries where people speak English? You are right – all these countries are English-speaking! So, today we are going to talk about the English-speaking countries.

-And the theme of our lesson is - “ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES”.

3. Постановка цели урока перед учащимися.

- So, today you will learn about the geographical situation of these countries, their capitals, population, official languages, flags, some symbols and some interesting facts.

4.Фонетическая зарядка.

Well, let’s begin with phonetic drills. The words on the board will help us to remember the names of the Countries and the Nationalities of people living in them.
Canada – the Canadian
the UK – the British
England – the English
Ireland – the Irish
Scotland – the Scottish
Wales – the Welsh
the USA – the American
Australia – the Australian Russia - the Russians
Italy - the Italians Germany - the Germans

5.  Активизация изученного материла по теме «Why do you study English

5.1 - English is a language of the world and how important to learn foreign languages and especially. Tell me please all reasons, why do you study English?

I study English because I’ll need it for my future education.

Ø  I study English because my parents want me to study this foreign language.

Ø  I study English because I want to have good marks.

Ø  I study English because I want to read English books in the original.

Ø  I study English because it is very useful for traveling.

Ø  I study English because I want to watch TV programmers on the BBC Channel.

Ø  I study English because I want to make friends in different countries.

Ø  I study English because I want to be able to order meals in a restaurant when I am abroad.

5.2. - What is the easiest way to learn a foreign language?

Ø  To have a good textbook

Ø  To go an English-speaking country

Ø  To have an English-speaking pen friend

Ø  To chat on the Internet

Ø  To watch videos and films in English

5.3. Активизация навыков аудирования.

- Open your student’s books, page 45, exercise 46. Read the task. Do you understand the task? What should you do?

- Listen to the students talking about their reasons for learning English. Fill in the table reasons of all students:

- You see that to learn English is very important nowadays.

- It is important to know about all English-speaking countries, too.

- Now let’s take an excursion to the English-speaking countries.

-Who can show them on the map? (учащиеся показывают страны, называя их)

-What are their capitals? (учащиеся показывают и называют их)

7. Введение страноведческой информации

- We’ll travel to The United Kingdom first. Here is a girl from the United Kingdom . Listen to her and try to ask questions about this country after her story.

( Учащийся рассказывает о Великобритании, ребята задают вопросы, если учащиеся затрудняются задать вопросы, учитель помогает)

- The next traveling is to the USA.

- Let’s travel to New Zealand .

- We continue our traveling. Let’s stop. Canada is here.

- And the last stop is in Australia.

( Учащийся рассказывает об Австралии, остальные задают вопросы)

8.  Момент релаксации. We’ll have a short rest and let’s sing a song.

9. Закрепление изученной страноведческой информации.

9.1.- Now, children it’s time to see what you have learned today. Match the countries and the word combinations corresponding to them.
(Учитель демонстрирует названия стран и фразы, которые учащиеся подбирают и помещают на доске)

Great Britain ( an island state), Australia (a “Lucky country”), New Zealand ( an upside down country), the USA ( a real melting pot), Canada (the second largest country in the world)

9.2 Активизация навыков аудирования.

-  Open your student’s books, page 42, exercise 32. Read the names of the capitals of the English-speaking countries. Fill in the table. Listen to the tape and check if you were right.
