Цели урока:

образовательные: расширение знаний, кругозора учащихся о спорте, тренировка лексики по теме « Спорт, Олимпийские игры »

развивающие: развитие логического мышления, развитие долговременной памяти, внимания, речевых навыков, коррекция произносительных навыков, развитие поискового чтения.

воспитательные: привитие интереса к здоровому образу жизни и занятию спортом, воспитание умения выслушивать собеседника, работать в команде.

Задачи:

Развитие словарного запаса учащихся; развитие коммуникативной компетенции (умение брать интервью).

Тип урока: комбинированный

1. Warming - up.

Teacher: Good morning, children! How are you?

Class: Good morning.

Teacher: Today I hope we will have an interesting and a thrilling lesson. I think if you look at the board you will guess what we are going to speak about. (On the board there are different pictures of Olympic Games) Слайд 3

Teacher : Yes you are right we shall speak about Olympic Games. You know that nowadays Olympic Games are very popular theme, especially in our city. Why? What will happen in 2014?

-  Possible answers: Olympic Games will be in our city in 2014.

Teacher: Let’s remember Olympic flag. What colour are the circles?

Class: blue, black, red, yellow, green

Teacher: Well done, I’d like to speak about winter and Summer Olympic Games. Look at the board and I give you 2 minute to divide them into two parts. Then we’ll check the task. P1,2,3 Слайд 6-7.

3.Reading for information

Teacher: Look at the blackboard to learn some interesting facts about History of Olympic Games. Let’s read the text one by one. (раздаточный материал у каждого ребенка)

Olympic Games Слайд 10,11,12

Olympic Games have long history. They started in 776ВС in Greece and took place every four years for nearly twelve centuries at Olympia. They included many different kinds of sports. All the cities in Greece sent their best athletes to Olympia to compete in the Games. When the Games took place, all the wars stopped. So, the Olympic Games became the symbol of peace and friendship.

Now, there are Summer and Winter Olympic Games. They are held separately. There are always several cities wishing to
host the Games. The International Committee of Olympic Games selects the most suitable. Thousand of athletes, journalists and guests arrive to the Games and it takes great efforts to arrange everything.

Russia joined the Olympic movement in 1952. In 1980, Moscow hosted the twenty-second Olympic Games. Our sportsmen won medals in many sports.

In 2014 Sochi will be the first Russian city to host the Winter Olympics.
