Цели: обобщение изученного материала по темам «Великобритания», «Мой город Нижневартовск»; совершенствование навыков устной речи; тренировка внимания и мышления; развитие аудитивных, грамматических и лексических навыков.
Оборудование: иллюстрации, фотографии по темам «Великобритания», «Мой город Нижневартовск»; набор карточек с заданиями; фишки; колокольчики; призы победителям.
Ход мероприятия:
Good morning, students! Today we’ll play the game - quiz “The best guide”. Please, divide into two teams and choose the captains and jury.
Преподаватели приветствуют учащихся, сообщают об игре – викторине «Лучший экскурсовод» и предлагают учащимся разделиться на две команды, выбрать капитанов и жюри.
There are two teams in our classroom and we have three members of our jury today. The first team is called… and its captain is … . The second team is called … and its captain is… . The members of our jury are… .
I. Let’s start. The first competition of our game - quiz is called “Countries and cities”. Your task is to find the capital of each country. If you are the first you need ring the bell. You’ll get a point for every right answer.
Первый конкурс нашей игры- викторины «Страны и города». Учащимся предлагаются карточки с заданием. Задача учащихся найти для каждой предложенной страны столицу. Команда, которая справится с этим заданием быстрее, звонит в колокольчик. За каждый правильный ответ команды получают очки.
Задание на карточках:
Countries: Canada, Japan, Australia, Spain, the USA, Great Britain, Egypt, France, China, Norway.
Cities: Oslo, Peking, Ottawa, Tokyo, Paris, Cairo, London, Washington, Madrid, Canberra. (Приложение )

Второй конкурс – «Великобритания». Командам предлагаются вопросы по Великобритании и варианты ответов, учащимся необходимо выбрать правильный вариант ответа. Команды по очереди отвечают на вопросы.

IV. The fourth competition. The game - quiz “My native town”. So, now we come back to our native town Nizhnevartovsk. Students, let’s see how do you know your town. The teams should answer the questions one by one. Students listen to my questions and choose the right answer.

The team which ends the task first and without mistakes will be a winner. If you are the first you need ring the bell. You’ll get a point for every right answer.
Пятый конкурс «Достопримечательности». Каждой команде предлагается набор карточек с названиями достопримечательностей Нижневартовска и их фотографии на доске, задача команд как можно быстрее и правильнее подобрать к фотографиям названия достопримечательностей. Та команда, которая быстрее и с наименьшим количеством ошибок справится с заданием, выигрывает конкурс.

VI. The sixth competition – “The competition of captains”. The captains get the texts about Nizhnevartovsk and the task is to fill the gaps with the appropriate words: area, oil field, city, places, located, region, founded, population
Nizhnevartovsk
Nizhnevartovsk is the second largest 1)….in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug — Yugra, Russia. It is 2)…..along the right bank of the Ob River. The total 3)….. of the town is 267 square kilometers. Theis about 245 000 people.
It was 5)……in 1909; its development into a large city was boosted in the 1960s by the discovery of the Samotlor 6) …., the largest in the country. Town status was granted to it on March 9, 1972. Nizhnevartovsk is the center of the West Siberian oil-producing 7) ……and one of the wealthiest cities in the country.

Шестой конкурс - «Конкурс капитанов». Капитанам предлагаются небольшие тексты о Нижневартовске с пропущенными словами. Необходимо правильно заполнить пропуски подходящими по смыслу словами. Капитан, который быстрее и правильнее выполняет задание, получает выигрышные очки.
VII. The seventh and the last competition is “The project about my native town Nizhnevartovsk”. The task for teams is to create the projects about their town using the pictures, paper, color pencils, markers and of course their knowledge.
Седьмой, последний конкурс - «Конкурс проектов». Командам предлагается создать проекты на английском языке о Нижневартовске, используя картинки, фломастеры, цветные карандаши, но и конечно свои знания.
В конце игры-викторины подсчитываются очки, подводятся итоги, определяется команда- победитель и проводится церемония награждения.
