FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
In the past, financial management was not a major concern for a business. A company used to establish relations with a local bank. The bank handled the financing and the company took care of producing and selling.
Today only a few firms operate in this way. Usually business has its own financial manager who works with the bank. They negotiate terms of financial transactions, compare rates among competing financial institutions. Financial management begins with the creation of a financial plan. The plan includes timing and amount of funds and the inflow and outflow of money.
The financial manager develops and controls the financial plan. He also forecasts the economic conditions, the company's revenues, expenses and profits.
The financial manager's job starts and ends with the company's objectives. He reviews them and determines the funding they require. The financial manager compares the expenses involved to the expected revenues. It helps him to predict cash flow. The available cash consists of beginning cash plus customer payments and funds from financing.
The financial management plans a strategy to make the ending cash positive. If cash outflow exceeds cash inflow the company will run out of cash. The solution is to reduce outflows. The financial manager can trim expenses or ask the customers to pay faster.
The financial manager also chooses financing techniques. One of them is short-term financing. Another is long term financing.
At the end of the fiscal year the financial manager reviews the company's financial status and plans the next year's financial strategy.

There is a central bank for all states in the USA called the Federal Reserve System
(«the Fed») which controls various financial institutions. The government and member banks jointly own the Fed. All national banks are members of the Fed. Most of the state banks do not join the system. Member banks have a right to obtain funds by borrowing from their district reserve banks, to use various services which the system provides, to obtain financial advice and assistance and to receive a dividend on stock that the district bank owns.

Краткое содержание аттестации по дисциплине
Текущая аттестация осуществляется в течение семестра в виде устных опросов, тестовых заданий, контрольных работ; также учитывается выполнение творческих работ на иностранном языке (проекты, рефераты, мини-доклады). В ходе аттестации оценивается уровень владения как речевыми навыками (произносительными, лексическими, грамматическими, орфографическими навыками, техники чтения), так и уровня владения иноязычными речевыми умениями (аудирования, чтения, говорения, письма).
Аттестация по первой части дисциплины проводится в конце первого и второго семестра (очная форма обучения) в форме зачета. Объектом контроля являются коммуникативные умения во всех видах речевой деятельности (аудирование, говорение, чтение, письмо), ограниченные тематикой и проблематикой изучаемых разделов курса.
Аттестация по второй части дисциплины проводится в конце третьего семестра (очная форма), в конце первого семестра (сокращенная форма) в форме зачета. Объектом контроля является достижение заданного Программой уровня владения иноязычной коммуникативной компетенцией.
Каждый семестровый курс предлагается оценивать по шкале в 100 баллов. Для получения допуска к зачетам необходимо набрать 60 баллов за следующие виды работы (перечень носит рекомендательный характер):
• самостоятельное выполнение текущих домашних заданий;
• творческие индивидуальные задания;
• коллективные и индивидуальные проекты;
• презентация по теме;
• решение надпредметных задач.
В том случае, если студент не набрал необходимое количество баллов, ему предстоит выполнить компенсаторный тест и продемонстрировать уровень владения иноязычными навыками и умениями.
Процедура проведения промежуточной и итоговой аттестации.
Зачет предполагает выполнение заданий на тестирование уровня сформированности лексических, грамматических и фонетических навыков, а также уровня сформированности умений в иноязычном аудировании, чтении и письменной речи.
В рамках зачёта критериями оценки владения иноязычным материалом являются:
• правильность использования языкового материала (т. е. соответствие грамматическим, лексическим и фонетическим нормам иностранного языка);
• полнота и адекватность понимания содержания услышанного и прочитанного;
• корректность и сложность письменного высказывания с точки зрения содержания и уровня языковой трудности, соответствие стилю и жанру письменного высказывания.
Экзамен состоит из двух частей: первая часть предполагает итоговую письменную контрольную работу по лексико-грамматическому материалу курса иностранного языка и предваряет устную часть.
1. Чтение, письменный перевод со словарем профессионально – ориентированного текста объемом печатных знаков, обсуждение его содержания на английском языке.
2. Ознакомительное чтение и комментирование делового письма на английском языке.
3. Устное изложение одной из изученных в течение курса тем по общеэкономической специальности.
