WEDDING WORLD
RESULTS OF THE EXHIBITION
The First WEDDING WORLD – 2007 Russian and International Specialized Exhibition was held in the World Trade Center (Moscow) on March 8-10.
The Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Russian Wedding Federation’s Trade Union, Department for Family and Youth Policy of Moscow, Russian Youth Union and Rosinex Exhibition Association under the auspices of the Association of Creative Stylists and Association of Wedding and Portrait Photographers developed the WEDDING WORLD project jointly.
The objective of the WEDDING WORLD – 2007 Exhibition is to present a new format of wedding exhibitions in Russia – business to business (B2B) – and help to unite the companies’ efforts to build an up-to-date, high-quality and accessible market of wedding goods and services. The exhibition is to become the main site where all wedding business experts could get together and communicate.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition complied with its objective successfully. The fact that a great share of the exhibition visitors fell on directors of wedding salons, stylists, restaurateurs, companies dealing with the organization of holidays, and other companies operating in the field of wedding events confirms this. However, taking into consideration the specific nature of the Russian wedding market, young couples and their relatives as the key consumers of wedding goods and services also had an opportunity to visit the exhibition. In addition to choosing the key element – the bride’s wedding dress – the young couples could get information about all kinds of services related to their wedding ceremonies.
The following figures welcomed exhibitors and guests at the Wedding World opening ceremony:
- Igor Prudnikov, Vice-President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
- Vladimir Vovk, Chairman of the Russian Wedding Federation’s Trade Union.
- Ramil Khazrat, Imam, Residential Office of the Moscow Spiritual Administration.
- Alexey Makarov, President of the Russian Youth Union.
- Nataliya Prudnikova, President of the Rosinex Exhibition Association.
Over 30 Russian manufacturers and distributors took part in the exhibition and presented a full range of goods and services related to the organization of wedding ceremonies: from wedding rings and fantastic wedding dresses to luxurious wedding limousines. The exhibition participants included the best-known companies including Koroleva (Queen) salon of wedding and evening dresses, Art Novias boutique, Aelita, Deniza, Olga, Schastlivyi Sluchay (Good Luck), Yelena Yavorskaya’s Fashion House, Solang wedding design center, Mir Limuzinov (World of Limousines) car rental company, etc.
Visiting the booths and shows, visitors could see the newest collections of wedding outfits made by Russian and foreign fashion designers, elite wedding fabrics, lace and Chantilly lace, select a limousine for their first wedding voyage, or order a remarkable wedding cake. For example, the Art Novias boutique presented lace dresses from the world famous manufacturer from Spain – Pronovias. These masterpieces attracted general attention, yet their prices corresponded to their highest quality. It was also impossible to pay no attention to the booth of the Yelena Yavorskaya’s Fashion House as it presented the dresses all girls dream of since their childhood. Even a thought of putting such a wonder on could cause a slight shiver. All models are made by the authors in a single copy. “The Olga Wedding salon” presented their wedding dresses of unusual colors – from white to green and even lilac. “Schastlivyi Sluchay” suggested products for brides made by the largest Canadian manufacturer – Bridalance.
Before entering the exhibition hall, the exhibition visitors could see a luxurious E-class Cruiser limousine provided by Zein LimousineC – the only one in Moscow. Snow-white six-wheeled Hammer wedding cars decorated with balloons and flowers made everyone wish to take a photo with them.
Not only spectacular shows with wedding dresses but also various events were held as a part of the exhibition specially for companies operating in this branch.
The Association of Creative Stylists gave its master classes in the art of wedding image making, distinctive features of wedding makeup for photos and haute couture hairdos for brides, and over 50 people attended these master classes. The leading makeup artists taught everyone interested in making the correct wedding image during their open workshops.
One of the best wedding photographers in Moscow Alexander Nozdrin and cameraman Alexey Dao gave master classes in particular features of wedding photography and video, and many photographers from Moscow participated in these master classes.
Exhibits from the unique Wedding Museum were presented at the exhibition for the first time. Olga Morozova, a fashion designer, has been collecting vintage dresses, accessories and household items for over ten years trying to reveal the secret of the harmony and spirituality concealed in vintage items. Her collection laid the basis for this remarkable museum. For example, the exhibits included the list of the bride’s marriage portion, wedding accessories and a dress of the nineteenth century.
The Gala Show was held on the second day of the exhibition, and the following parties took part in it: Art Novias boutique, which presented Pronovias wedding dresses for the first time in Russia, Alisa, Aelita, Carmen, Olga, Juno and Michelle wedding salons. The rustling dresses of striking designer’s models, luxurious lace of modern outfits, stylish models with their distinguished design, shining Swarovsky models, astonishing embroidery, white, creamy, noble bronze and even red wedding dresses – all this attracted great attention of the exhibition visitors.
The shows ended with the unique BAR-SHOW given by Sergey Gribkov, the founder of the flair bartending movement.
A consultation center was established for future newly married couples to consult them on marriage contracts and family law, family psychology and mortgage loans for young families. Representatives of the Moscow Service of Psychological Aid for General Public, Department of the Family and Youth Policy, Chamber of Attorneys of the Moscow Region and Mir Nedvizhimost could answer any of the questions.
The Fairytale for Young People charity action was held on March 9 as a part of the exhibition jointly with the Open Heart Charitable Foundation and with the support of the Department for Family and Youth Policy of Moscow. As a result of the action, a solemn ceremony was organized for two newly married couples from low-income and socially unprotected families, and a full wedding holiday was arranged for them. The brides were presented with elegant wedding dresses and flowers from well-known salons. The newly married couples were presented with wedding rings, wedding loaves, splendid wedding cakes and other gifts. The young couples went to the registry office by luxurious limousines, and then one couple proceeded to celebrate their wedding holiday in a restaurant, and the other couple used services suggested by a unique “wheeled dance hall” – PartyBus, which provided an opportunity to hold such an event for the first time.
