Тема: “The Olympic Games”

Цель урока: активизация лексических единиц и грамматических знаний в устной речи по теме: «Олимпийские игры».

Задачи урока.

Учебные:

·  Активизировать лексико-грамматические знания предыдущих уроков

·  Развивать умение высказываться логично, связно, делать выводы, анализировать полученную информацию.

Воспитательные:

·  Прививать интерес к мировой истории и культуре.

·  Способствовать воспитанию интереса к спорту и здоровому образу жизни.

·  Способствовать воспитанию чувства коллективизма, взаимопонимания.

Метапредметные:

·  Систематизация знаний учащихся об Олимпийских играх

·  Развивать умение работать в группе.

Оборудование: проектор, кроссворд, компьютерная презентация.

Этапы урока.

  I.  Организационный момент

1.  Приветствие. Рапорт учащегося (Aline! Attention! Comrade teacher, the pupils of the 7th form are ready for the lesson. Today is the 17th of April. A is absent/All are present. Stand easy! Sit down!)

2.  Ознакомление с задачами урока. Pupils, I hope you remember about the great sport event that is coming soon in our country. How do you think what it is? Right, this is the Olympic Games-2013 in Sochi. That is why today we are going to talk about the Olympic Games and sport).

  II.  Ход урока

1.  Фонетическая зарядка. Распределить слова по звукам.

Find the words with the following sounds [t∫], [k], [s]:

Quickly, success, choice, chess, cycling, champion, match, peace, hockey, each, athletics, much, skating, place, change.

2.  Речевая разминка. Try to tell me:

·  What characteristics does the hockey player need? (to be strong, brave, healthy, to be able to skate excellent)

·  What characteristics does the figure skater need? (to be artistic, to be a remarkable skater, to dance well)

·  What characteristics does the boxer need? (to very strong, to be brave, to be able to fight, to be hard-working)

·  What characteristics does the chess player need? (to be hard working, to be intelligent)

So now I think you will be able to do the crossword, using your knowledge of every kind of sport.

3.  Закрепление лексических единиц. Выполнение кроссворда.

1.  You have to be good at skating and team work (hockey)

2.  Some tall men need a ball and a basket for each team (basketball)

3.  Two people compete using a small ball, a net and two small bats (tennis)

4.  You can keep fit travelling by bicycle (cycling)

5.  Kicking is the main activity in this sport (boxing)

6.  Two teams of 11 players kick the ball. They can`t catch it (soccer)

4.  Практика чтения. Работа с текстом.

Let`s remember the origin of the Olympic Games. You have an ancient letter from Greece. Let`s read it, do an exercise and give a tittle to the text.

5.  Проверка домашнего задания. Монологическая речь

Boys and girls, we have already studied a story of Baron Pierre de Coubertin. Let`s remember this period of the Olympic Games` history. Tell us about his person, what he is famous for and try to answer some of my questions.

6.  Актуализация грамматических навыков. Повторение сравнительной степени прилагательных.

The motto of the Olympic Games is “Swifter, higher, stronger”. What is the degree of comparison of these adjectives? Right, comparative. Remind me, please, the suffix of this degree. Now I want you to compare the sports abilities of the animals.

7.  Активизация полученных знаний. Мини-викторина.

So, we have studied how the Olympic Games were developing and now I want you to recollect your knowledge answering my questions. Some of them are about modern Games.

  III.  Заключение.

So, our lesson has come to an end. What have you learnt today? Finish up the phrases (Слайд на презентации).

Сегодня на уроке мы обобщили наши знания истории развития Олимпийских игр путем чтения и устной речи, а также вспомнили сравнительную степень прилагательных.
