Children: about New Year party!

Teacher: Yes. We will prepare to the New Year party.

Look at these words and repeat: Father Christmas, Christmas tree, Christmas stocking, lights, tinsel, present, fireplace, cracker, and crown.

Teacher: Christmas and New Year are the happiest and the busiest time of the year for millions of people all over the world. I know you have some information about it.7 min

НЕ нашли? Не то? Что вы ищете?

Pupil 1: Most families have a Christmas tree in their homes. They decorate the tree with colourful lights, tinsel and toys. They put presents for all the family under the Christmas tree.

Before Christmas you can see colourful lights and decorations in the city streets and the shop windows too. The cities look beautiful.

Pupil 2:On Christmas Eve children hang stockings for Father Cristmas to fill with presents. In France, children put their shoes near the fireplace so Father Christmas can fill them with presents.

Pupil3: British people have fun with crackers at Christmas lunch or dinner. The crackers go bang and inside you find a colourful paper party hat or crown, small presents and jokes.

Teacher: It’s very interesting.

Some people write resolutions for the New Year. Every year I promise myself - I will do sport. I won’t eat lots of chocolate and sweets. But it’s so difficult! What will you promise? 5 min

( children write their resolutions and then read)

You will be very good pupils!

Teacher: Last year I got a book as a present, because I like reading. This year I would like to get microwave oven, because I like cooking. 3 min

What would you like to get for New Year?

Children: I’d like to get _________ because I like _________.

Write your wishes on the papers. We’ll send them Father Frost.

Teacher: Now listen to the conversation and fill in the gaps:7 min.

Father: Now, it’s time for presents.

Roger: Hooray! I can’t wait. Where’s mine?

Kate: here you are, this is yours from me.

Roger: Thanks… mm… what is it? Oh, sorry, here’s yours.

Kate: Wow, Roger, it’s great! Thank you.

Roger: where are our presents for mum and dad?

Kate: this is hers and that’s his.

Roger and Kate: Here you are, Mum. Here you are, Dad.

Father: Thank you, children.

Mother: Thanks, darling. And this present is ours, your dad’s and mine, for you, Roger, and this one is ours for you, Kate.

Roger: A camera! Just what I wanted. Thanks a lot.

Kate: A walkman! Just what I wanted. Thank you very much.

Mother: I’m glad you like them. Oh, I do like Christmas.

Roger: Stop! Look at me! Say “cheese”!

Teacher: Every year I send my friends and relatives Christmas cards. Could you design your own cards for your parents and friends.

( children write Christmas cards.)5 min.

Teacher: Oh, now we are ready to celebrate New Year. We just have written New Year resolutions, made New Year cards…children come here, take your cards and let’s hang them on the Christmas tree.

Children: Good bye!
