Пояснительная записка

Программа дисциплины «Английский язык для профессиональной коммуникации» составлена доктором культурологи, профессором кафедры английского языка при факультете менеджмента и кандидатом филологических наук, доцентом кафедры . и предназначена для студентов IV курса факультета «Социология» (бакалавриат).

В соответствии с концепцией преподавания английского языка в ГУ-ВШЭ, утверждённой УС ГУ-ВШЭ 24 июня 2005 года (протокол ), обучение английскому языку студентов IV курса ставит своей целью, используя навыки, полученные на I-м, II- и III-м курсах, подготовить студентов к сдаче государственного экзамена по английскому языку и к составлению и защите дипломной работы на английском языке. Этой цели соответствуют и задачи дисциплины «Английский язык» на IV-м курсе::

- Совершенствование умения аннотировать и реферировать на двух исходных языках (русском и английском),

- Развитие навыков аудирования и краткой записи текстов по специальности;

- Развитие умения применить навыки тематического и лингвистического анализа аутентичных текстов по социологии при сборе материала и при написании дипломной работы.

- Развитие умения использовать навыки устного, публичного представления докладов, проектов, результатов социологических исследований при подготовке к защите дипломной работы на английском языке;

- Развитие навыков стройного и логичного построения научного высказывания;

- Ознакомление с форматом и особенностями структурирования научных работ, принятыми в англоязычной практике;

- Расширение активного вокабуляра за счёт терминологической и специальной лексики из области общей и экономической социологии, а также устойчивых выражений, характерных для научной речи.

Тематический план учебной дисциплины «Английский язык для профессиональной коммуникации»

Дисциплина «Английский язык для профессиональной коммуникации» на IV курсе факультета «Социология» (бакалавриат) сосредоточена на развитии навыков написания и публичного представления результатов научного исследования. Параллельно с подготовкой к защите дипломной работы студенты должны совершенствовать навыки, которые потребуются при сдаче государственного экзамена по английскому языку. Программа дисциплины «Английский язык для профессиональной коммуникации» на IV курсе рассчитана на 162 уч. часов (60 аудиторных и 102 часа СРС).

Формы контроля

Достижения студентов контролируются ведущими преподавателями на протяжении всего учебного года. Формы контроля предусматривают проверку домашнего задания, опросы, тесты, контрольное аудирование, защиту реферата ВКР, государственный экзамен

По окончании программы 4-го курса проводится государственный экзамен по дисциплине «Английский язык», состоящий из двух видов аттестационных испытаний: итогового экзамена по английскому языку и защиты выпускной квалификационной работы.

Критерии оценивания

9,10 = Full realisation of the task set.

• All content points included with appropriate expansion.

• Wide range of structure and vocabulary within the task set.

• Minimal errors, perhaps due to ambition; well-developed control of language.

• Ideas effectively organised, with a variety of linking devices.

• Register and format consistently appropriate to purpose and audience.

Fully achieves the desired effect on the target reader.

7, 8 = Good realisation of the task set.

• All major content points included; possibly one or two minor omissions.

• Good range of structure and vocabulary within the task set.

• Generally accurate, errors occur mainly when attempting more complex language.

• Ideas clearly organised, with suitable linking devices.

• Register and format on the whole appropriate to purpose and audience.

Achieves the desired effect on the target reader.

5, 6 = Reasonable achievement of the task set.

• All major content points included; some minor omissions.

• Adequate range of structure and vocabulary, which fulfils the requirements of the task.

• A number of errors may be present, but they do not impede communication. Ideas adequately organised, with simple linking devices.

• Reasonable, if not always successful attempt at register and format appropriate to purpose and audience.

Achieves, on the whole, the desired effect on the target reader.

4 = Task set attempted but not adequately achieved.

• Some major content points inadequately covered or omitted, and/or some irrelevant material.

• Limited range of structure and vocabulary.

• A number of errors, which distract the reader and may obscure communication at times.

• Ideas inadequately organised; linking devices rarely used.

• Unsuccessful/inconsistent attempts at appropriate register and format.

Message not clearly communicated to the target reader.

3 = Poor attempt at the task set.

• Notable content omissions and/or considerable irrelevance, possibly due to misinterpretation of task set.

• Narrow range of vocabulary and structure.

• Frequent errors which obscure communication; little evidence of language control.

• Lack of organisation, or linking devices.

• Little or no awareness of appropriate register and format. Very negative effect on the target reader.

1, 2 = Achieves nothing: too little language for assessment (fewer than 50 words) or totally irrelevant or totally illegible.

All of these comments should be interpreted at FCE Level, and referred to in conjunction with a Task-specific Mark Scheme.

A maximum of 3 points can be awarded within each of Bands represents 'acceptable' performance at FCE. 5.3 may not be a flawless answer and should be awarded for top performance at FCE Level (Common Scale Independent User).
