T: - Sit down. Let’s begin our lesson. Today the theme of our lesson is “Washington D. C.”. We revice our knowledge about this city, brush up grammar theme “Present Perfect Tense”.
Answer the questions:
- What date is it today?
Ps: - Today is the 21st of October.
- What is the day today?
Ps: - Today is Thursday.
- Who is absent?

- In what American cities can you see a lot of tall buildings?
P: - In New-York, Chicago…
- Is Washington and Washington D. C. the same place?
P: - No, Washington is the state, and Washington D. C. is the capital of the USA.
- What are Americans proud of?
P: - They are proud of their country.
- Are you proud of your country?
P: - Yes, we are

T: - OK. I see you know lots about the USA. Now we’ll play a role-playing game. Girls, you will be clerks in tour firm “Around the World”. And I will be your manager. Look, We have some visitors. Let’s say “hello” to them.
Pcl.: - Ledies and gentlemen, we are glad to see you in our agency. What would you like?
Pt. –We’d like to see Washington D. C.
Pt.: - Yes, I heard a lot about this city.
Pt.: - Also, it’s a capital of the USA, isn’t it?
Pt.: - But, maybe it’s not so interesting, I think.
Pcl.: - No, you are not right. And we can tell you about it.
T: - Yes, girls. Let’s show our guests a short presentation film about this beautiful city and its sights. Dear friends, you see a map on the blackboard. Ira, can you show us these places of interests?
P: - Yes, sure.

T: - Thank you, girls. So, dear guests. Are you ready to go to the USA?
Pt: - Yes, we are.
Pt: - But we have some questions. Can you answer them?
T: - Sure. We are listening to you.
Pt: - I didn’t understand, are there any tall buildings in Washington D. C.?
Pcl: - Only the Capitol. It’s the tallest building in the city.
Pt: - Can we see all the rooms in the White House?
Pcl: - No, you can’t. You can visit only the first floor. The rest rooms are closed for visitors.
Pt: - Who was the founder of Washington D. C.? Was he the first President of the USA?
Pcl: - The founder of Washington D. C. and the first president of the USA was George Washington.
Pt: - Is it true that laws are made in Washington D. C.?
Pcl: - Yes, you are right.

-So, let’s continue. Look at your desks. You are going to Washington D. C. There is a text about this city on your desks. Please, read it and find out the words that don’t belong to any sentence. And then you’ll find the key of the text.

T: - Now, let’s continue. You are ready to visit Washington D. C. But do you know grammar rules. How will you tell your friends about the trip? What can you say about Present Perfect? You may say in Russian.

T: - Yes. And you have some cards on your desks. Let’s do these exercises.
Ex. 1 Write 3 forms of irregular verbs.(карточка № 1)

T: - Yes, you’re understood well. And now let’s play. We knew out a lot of things about Washington D. C. Can you say me what you think about it?
