Мета: - Ознайомлення учнів з визначними місцями Лондона
- Формування комунікативних здібностей учнів;
- Активація пізнавального інтересу комунікації на англійській мові
- Вдосконалення лексичних навичок по темі на рівні вільного висловлювання у вигляді монологічного і діалогічного мовлення
- Розвивати навички аудіюванння
- Прищеплювати учням інтерес до іншомовної культури, виховувати культуру спілкування

The British Museum is a museum of human history and culture in London. Its collections, which number more than seven million objects, are amongst the largest and most comprehensive in the world and originate from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present.
The British Museum was established in 1753, largely based on the collections of the physician and scientist Sir Hans Sloane.
The museum first opened to the public on 15 January 1759 in Montagu House in Bloomsbury, on the site of the current museum building.
Until 1997 the British Museum was unique in that it housed both a national museum of antiquities(антикваріат) and a national library in the same building.
The centre of the museum was redeveloped(перебудований) in 2001 to become the Great Court.( Великий Палац)
Since 2002 the director of the museum has been Neil MacGregor.
The museum is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

Madame Tussaud’s Museum in Marylebone Road
It was founded by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud in 1835 in Baker Street, London. Madame Tussaud’s is a major tourist attraction, displaying waxworks of historical and royal figures, film stars, sports stars and other famous people from all over the world. The modals look like real people. You can see famous people from the past and famous people of today – Abraham Lincoln, William Shakespeare, Pavarotti, Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Sylvester Stallone.
Other famous people were added to the exhibition, including Horatio Nelson, and Sir Walter Scott.
One of the main attractions of her museum was the Chamber of Horrors. This part of the exhibition included victims of the French Revolution.
The oldest figure on display is that of Madame du Barry. Other ancient faces from the time of Tussaud include Robespierre, George III and Benjamin Franklin. In 1842, she made a self portrait which is now on display at the entrance of her museum. She died in her sleep on 15 April 1850.
The museum is very popular. Two million tourists go there every year. This museum has a branch in Amsterdam, Las Vegas, New York City, Hong Kong, Shanhai, Hollywood, Los Angeles, and Washington D. C.
