The president is not right! With his statement he does only harm to his rating before the elections. I’ll not be surprised if not only radical but also moderate Muslims will vote against him! This is a mistake of the president himself and his surrounding, especially advisors! Even if it’s his personal opinion, the statement is not far-sighted. I don’t like to say compliments to the authorities, but Kasymov is the only one among our politicians and ministers who can clearly and professionally discuss complicated and essential problems of Kazakhstan and its people. Obviously, the education Mr. Kasymov received in the Moscow’s MGIMO gives him such advantage. As a politician, he could easily speak with the politicians from Russia and Europe, which is worth a lot.
