Урок в 5 классе «Путешествие в Лондон»
Цели урока:
Образовательные:
1) развивать лексические навыки по теме «Достопримечательности Лондона»;
2) тренировать грамматические навыки.
Развивающие:
1) развивать речевые умения с использованием ранее усвоенной лексики;
2) развивать фонематический слух;
3) развивать умение работать в сотрудничестве и самостоятельно.
Воспитательные:
1) способствовать расширению кругозора у учащихся;
2) воспитывать коммуникативно-речевой такт, коммуникабельность в общении со сверстниками;
3) воспитывать у учащихся интерес к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
Оборудование: карта Великобритании, слайды с достопримечательностями Лондона,
презентация о Великобритании, продукты для ролевой игры, учебник.
Ход урока
1. Приветствие. Good morning, pupils. I am glad to see you. Sit down, please.
2. Учитель говорит о цели и задачах урока. Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. We are going to the excursion to London. It is always interesting to travel because you can learn many new things, meet different people and taste different food. So, by what transport do people usually travel? (На доске вывешены картинки с видами транспорта.) Учащиеся называют их.
Pupils: by train, by plane, by bus, by car, by ship.
Teacher: So we shall go to London by train. Now let’s sing the song.
1. We are going, going, going
We are going by the train
Many beautiful sightseeing
We are going to see again.
2. The sun is shining brightly
And the sky is so blue
We are going to visit London
In a day or may be two.
3. We are playing, we are singing
We are laughing all the way
We are going to visit London
On these happy holidays.
Teacher: Now we have come to London. There are many tourists in London. It’s a pity we haven’t got a guide. What shall we do?
Pupil 1: Let’s ask passers –by.
1. P1: - Excuse me, how do I get to the centre of the city?
P2: - Which part of the city do you want?
P1: - Trafalgar Square.
P2: - Take a bus or the underground. It’ll take you long to walk there.
P1: - Can you tell me the shortest way to the underground?
P2: - Go straight ahead. You can’t miss it.
P1: - Thank you very much.
P2: - You are welcome.
2. P1: - Excuse me, madam. I’m a stranger here. Will you tell me how to get to the centre of the city?
P2: - There is an express bus that will take you to the nearest metro station.
P1: - How long will it take me?
P2: - About half an hour or so.
P1: - Can I take a taxi?
P2: - Certainly, you can. The taxi stop is over there.
P1: - Oh, thank you very much.
P2: - You are welcome.
Teacher: Now let’s go to the Trafalgar Square. Look there, the guides are coming.
P1: Hello! Welcome to London, the capital of Great Britain. My name is Jane. I’m going to be your guide and I’ll show you around the centre of London. We shall walk a lot and I shall tell you about the history of London. London is a political and business centre. It is the oldest part of London. Many people work in the City. There are many banks and offices there too.
Teacher: Now we shall watch a video about the Great Britain. (Показываю видеофильм о Великобритании)
You know, our pupils have read much about London. They can tell you about sightseeing. Who wants to tell about Trafalgar Square?
P3: I can. (Показывает картинку с видом на Трафальгарскую площадь). Trafalgar Square is the most popular place for people to meet. In the middle of the square there is Nelson’s Column, which is 51 m high. There are two beautiful fountains in the square. Buckingham Palace is the most famous place in London. It is the home of the Queen. There are 600 rooms in it. It has an indoor swimming pool and a cinema.
Guide: I want to add that in front of the Palace there is a Queen Victoria Memorial. It takes people ten or twenty minutes to get from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square, the centre of London.
P4: I’ll tell about Big Ben. (Показывает слайд.) It is the biggest bell in the clock tower in Britain. Hamleys is the biggest toy shop in London. There are six floors with millions of toys. Tower Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in London. It is over a hundred years old.
P5: The London Eye is the biggest wheel in Britain.( Показывает картинку). It was opened on 1 February 2000 in London. There is a wonderful view from it. Let’s climb into the sky. Up, up and away!
P6: Madame Tussaud’s is a wax museum. (Показывает слайд.) There a lot of kings, queens, politicians and stars. You can see Charlie Chaplin, Princess Diana, Silvester Stallone and many others. It is very popular – two million people visit it every year. There are about four hundred figures in the museum. It takes about six months to make a new figure. Artists make the faces and hands from wax. They make the bodies from plastic. They use real human hair on the heads.
P7: (На экране слайд.) Westminster Abbey is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. It is very old too. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there. Many English kings and queens are buried there. Many great writers and poets are buried there: Charles Dickens and Rudyard Kipling.
P8: The Tower Of London is a very big castle. ( Показывает слайд). It is the oldest place in London. It was a castle, a zoo, a prison and a museum. The most famous things in the Tower of London are the Crown Jewels. They have the biggest diamond in the world – The “Star of Africa”.
Teacher: Thank you very much. We have travelled a lot today. Now let’s have a break. (Физкультминутка)

P1: - Anything else?
P2: - A packet of biscuits, please.
P1: - Here you are.
P2: - Thank you.
Teacher: Now our guides have prepared questions for you to answer. Please listen carefully.
