1. About Myself

My name is Artyom.

My surname is Mironenko.

I am 11 years old.

I am from Russia.

I live in Belgorod with my family.

I go to Lyceum N10.

I am in the fourth form. I study a lot of subjects.

They are: Russian, Reading, Maths, PE, Music, Art, English, and others.

I think that all the subjects are interesting.

I have some favourite activities.

I like playing sports, listening to music, reading books.

I also enjoy working on my computer.

2. About my Family

I live in Belgorod with my family.

I have got a mother, a father, and a sister.

My mother`s name is Irina Victorovna. She is 33 years old. She works in a shop. She is pretty and helpful.

My father`s name is Igor Petrovich. He is 35 years old. He is a driver.

He is attractive and kind.

My sister is two years younger than me. So she is nine. She is a pupil.

My sister is a funny girl. She likes making jokes and playing with her dolls.

My family is very united. We like to spend our time together. We often go on picnics in summer. Every year we go to the seaside, swim and sunbathe there. We always help each other.

I think that we are a good family because we love each other very much.

3. My Pets

I have got some pets at home: a dog, a cat and a parrot.

My dog`s name is Sam. It is five. It is white and brown. My dog is very clever. It can obey my orders: sit, lie, and give me his paw.

My cat`s name is Masha. It is grey. It is four years old and it has got its own kittens.

They are too small yet. But they can play with their mother. They are really pretty and funny.

Our parrot`s name is Kesha. It is three.

It can fly, skip and can say its name.

I take care of my pets. I play with them, clean their place and feed them.

I like my pets and I hope they like me too.

4. My Friends

I am a sociable person that`s why I have got a lot of friends.

We go to school together. We are in the same form.

My best friends` names are Roman and Vlad.

My friends are clever, kind and cheerful.

We spend a lot of time together: we play sports, go for a walk, discuss our news, and play computer games.

We help and support each other.

I like my friends because I can trust them.

We always share our secrets with each other.

My friends are fine and we are never bored together.

I am happy to have such good friends.

5. My Special Interests

I am a schoolboy, so I am a really busy person. I do my homework every day and try to get only good marks at school.

But sometimes I have got some free time.

When I have got some minutes to spare I can do different things.

I enjoy playing computer games. I think they are exciting.

I like reading books. I can get a lot of new information from them.

A. Belyanin is my favourite writer. He writes a lot of adventure stories for children. They are really interesting.

I also have two hobbies: learning English and woodwork. These are my favourite activities.

I get pleasure from reading books in English and making different objects with my own hands.

6. My School

I am a pupil. I am in the fourth form. I go to Lyceum N10 in Belgorod.

My lyceum is old and big. There are two floors in it, a lot of classrooms, a library, a gym.

I go to school five days a week except Saturday and Sunday.

My school day starts at 8.10 a. m. and finishes at about 2 p. m.

We usually have 5 lessons a day. I study a lot of subjects. They are: Russian, Maths, Reading, English, Music, PE, and others.

English, Maths, and Russian are my favourite subjects.

I like them because they are interesting and I can get a lot of useful skills.

I like my school because I can see my friends every day and I can learn my favourite subjects.

I enjoy going to school.

7. My Favourite Dishes

There a lot of wonderful dishes.

As for me, I prefer Russian cuisine.

But I sometimes don`t mind eating pizza or fish and chips.

I think these dishes are very tasty.

I also enjoy eating rolls with garlic. They are fantastic. My Granny cooks them very often. She is a great cook.

As for me, I can cook some simple dishes: pizza, sandwiches, pancakes.

I like the process of cooking.

I think that every person must learn how to do it.

8. My Favourite Season

Each season has its beauty. But summer is my favourite.

It is the warmest and the most beautiful season.

There are a lot of nice flowers, green grass and trees everywhere.

The weather is usually fine.

When it is hot, I go to the river and swim there.

Sometimes I go to the forest with my friends.

My parents and I often go on picnics in summer.

When it rains, I stay indoors and watch TV, play computer games, read books.

I like summer very much and I enjoy my summer holidays.

9. My Home

People usually live in houses or in flats.

As for my family, we have a nice house.

It is big. There are three floors in it.

There are five bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a kitchen, a bathroom, a study, and a library.

We have a lot of flowers, soft toys for my little sister, and pictures on the walls.

My bedroom is on the third floor.

There is a bed, a sofa, a desk, a wardrobe in the room.

I also have a computer and a TV set there.

I like my room and my house.

I think it is very cozy.

10. Things I Can and Cannot Do

I can do a lot of various things.

I can read and write well.

I can drive a car a little.

I can work on my computer.

I can speak English.

I can swim well.

I know how to make different objects out of wood.

I can take pictures beautifully.

I can cook some tasty dishes.

I can`t play any musical instrument.

I can`t play volleyball.

I can`t draw beautifully.

I can`t repair a car.

I can`t speak German.

11. My Working Day

I usually get up at seven o`clock in the morning.

I go to the bathroom, wash my face and hands.

Then I go to the kitchen and eat my breakfast.

For breakfast I usually have a cup of tea and a sandwich.

After that I go to school.

I live not far from school, so it usually takes me about 10 minutes to get there.

My school day starts at 8.10 a. m.

I have 5 lessons a day.

I come back home at about 3 or 4 p. m.

When I am at home, I have a little rest, go for a walk, and play with my friends.

After that I do my homework.

In the evening I watch TV or read books and newspapers.

I go to bed at about 10 p. m.

12. My Favourite Books

Many people like reading books.

I can say that reading is my hobby.

My favourite books are adventures and science fiction.

I like reading about different countries and about our history.

I think the books about adventures are really exciting.

My favourite writers are A. Belyanin and E. Hunter.

I enjoy reading their books because they are very special and interesting.

Reading develops my mind.

I get a lot of information from books.

Reading is a really useful activity.

13. Things I Like and Dislike

I enjoy different things.

I like reading books, playing computer games, dancing

I am fond of learning foreign languages.

I am keen on woodwork. It is very interesting and it can be useful in my future life.

I enjoy going to school. I can see my friends and study my favourite subjects there.

I like to spend my free time playing with my little sister.

I don`t like playing volleyball.

I dislike washing the dishes.

I dislike drawing.

I dislike swiping the floor.

14. My Favourite Music

I think that people cannot live without music.

We can listen to music everywhere: in the streets, in a car, at home.

Different people like various kinds of music.

As for me, I enjoy pop and rap.

“Black Piece Eye” is my favourite group.

It performs rap in English. Their music is wonderful.

I am glad I can understand their songs because I learn English.

For me it is not only a pleasure, but a good chance to practice English as well.

Music is my joy.

15. The View from My Window

I live in a big house.

There are three floors in it.

My room is on the third floor.

There is a wonderful view from the window of my room.

There is a restaurant behind my house.

There is a kindergarten in front of my house.

There is a washing cars` service next to the restaurant.

I can see big and small houses from my window.

The view from my window is really picturesque in spring and autumn.

I can see a lot of trees and flowers from my window.
