Boys and girls! From your early school days you have known that the Earth is the planet where we live. But life on the Earth is impossible without peace. The only road to the future is peace. You know that the twenty first of September is the International Day of Peace. It was proclaimed by the United Nations Organization in 1982. The International Day of Peace also known as the World Peace Day, occurs annually on September, 21.

It is dedicated to peace, and specifically the absence of war. To inaugurate the day, the «Peace Bell» is rung at UN Headquarters (in New York City). The bell it cast from coins donated by children from all continents. The inscription on its reads: «Long live absolute world peace». What do peace and the future of mankind mean? These two things mean that people of our planet should not repeat the tragic experience of the past. They should do everything for a peaceful future.
