І. ОРГАНІЗАЦІЙНА ЧАСТИНА.

1. Привітання.

2. Повідомлення теми і мети заняття.

-  Look at the screen!

“Humans merely share the earth. We can only protect the land, not own it”

-  Who can translate? (Люди тільки те і роблять, що ділять землю… Ми можемо лише захищати землю, а не привласнювати її).

-  Today the word “ecology” is on everybody’s lips. People have made a mess in nature: polluted air, soil and water; chopped and burnt trees; killed animals; learned to use nuclear power. It is clear that not only nature is influenced by the changes of the modern world, but people health is as well. Everybody wants to be healthy, so we need to take care about our environment. The Earth needs our help.

-  So, the theme of our class is “The Environmental Pollution”

2.  Групова робота.

-  You have some bright envelopes on your desks. Yevghen, Karina and Anna are the first group etc. In every envelope you can find the task or the situation for another group.

-  Open them! Read the situation.

Tankers full of water were sent, but it was too late to save many of the animals and crops there. The whole area was like a vast desert.

-  What is this? (a drought).

Suddenly the ground shook beneath our feet and the tall building opposite the college began to sway. Windows and doors rattled and several bookcases in the college library came crashing down.

-  It’s an earthquake.

The river overflowed in several places and huge areas of farming land are now several feet under water. Boats are being to rescue people in nearby villages.

-  What natural disaster is this?

-  It’s a flood.

Several people were walking along when suddenly tons of earth came crashing down the hillside and blocked the road in front of them.
