1.  Warm-up activity.

What Brinish writers and poets do you know?

2.  Reading for specific information.

Look at page 13. they are famous British writers whose portraits are exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery. Why are they exhibited there? Consult the LCG.

3.  Listening for main idea.

Guess What’s the name of the book?

It’s a book about the love of two people from families who are enemies. They marry secretly, but they are not allowed to be together and they kill themselves. They are seen as a typical example of unhappy lovers.

Who is the writer of this book? What do you know about Shakespeare?

4. Pre-reading stage. Listening for main idea.

Look at the pictures on the blackboard.

1. Shakespeare’s birthplace. John Shakespeare lived and kept his shop in

this house. His eight children were born here.

2.  The classroom where Shakespeare studied, as many people believe.

born and lived here until she married Shakespeare in 1582.

4.  Burial place of Shakespeare. He was buried in the Holy Trinity church.

Shakespeare’s figure. On the ground there are small figures of Shakespeare’s famous characters.
