Look at page 13. they are famous British writers whose portraits are exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery. Why are they exhibited there? Consult the LCG.

Guess What’s the name of the book?

It’s a book about the love of two people from families who are enemies. They marry secretly, but they are not allowed to be together and they kill themselves. They are seen as a typical example of unhappy lovers.
