Hymn 377 – Immortal, invisible, God only wise

Collect

A

LMIGHTY and eternal God, who, for the greater confirmation of the faith, didst allow thy holy apostle Thomas to doubt the resurrection of thy Son till word and sight convinced him: grant to us, who have not seen, that we also may believe, and so confess Christ as our Lord and our God; who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

First Reading Habakkuk 2:1-4

Psalm 31:1-6

Second Reading Ephesians 2:19-end (Read by Sunniva Grшnlie)

Anthem The Heavens are Telling – Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809)

The Heavens are telling the glory of God, the wonder of his work displays the firmament. To day that is coming speaks it the day, the night that is gone to following night. The Heavens are telling the glory of God, the wonder of his work displays the firmament. In all the lands resounds the word, never unperceived, ever understood. The Heavens are telling the glory of God, the wonder of his work displays the firmament.

The Gospel John 20:24-29

T

HOMAS (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails and put my hand in his side, I will not believe.” A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you”. Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
