MG Racing at Mallory Park & Wroxall Abbey Hotel and Estate...
We are pleased to announce MGC Weekend will be 2nd & 3rd July 2016. We will be welcoming you to join us at Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate from Saturday afternoon. We plan to park up (weather permitting) in front of the Mansion House and display our cars, chat, relax and hopefully enjoy the July sunshine, in the superb setting of this beautiful hotel. Wroxall Abbey is set in 27 acres of landscaped grounds and open parkland. Prepare to be delighted with this beautiful hotel and its surroundings.
Saturday evening we will be dining in the Sonnets Restaurant, with a reception drink in the Broadwood Bar, to start. You will be served a 3 course dinner, with coffee.
Sunday, after a hearty breakfast, we will head off to Mallory Park Circuit, for a great day of MG Car Racing. We will have a couple of route options for you. These will just be suggested routes and not Tulip/Road Runs. Our chosen hotel is some 34 miles away from Mallory or cross country around 26 miles. It was chosen for its love of classic cars, impressive building and delightful accommodation.
On arriving at Mallory Park, you will be directed to Gerard’s Bend, where we have MGC Register Parking organised for our event. This area of the circuit is a great spectator point and is very close to the ‘Bridge’ that will give you access to the Paddock and the Hailwood Suite, with elevated viewing across a good percentage of the circuit. We have exclusive use of this suite, for the entire day and will be offering a buffet lunch to all attendees supporting their MGC Register event badge....
The official timetable has not yet been released, for the racing. However, typically spectator gates will open from 9am with practice starting around 9.30am. Racing will commence mid-day. We hope to be able to take small groups up to Race Control throughout the day and we are also attempting to organise some MGC parade laps, if the racing programme permits. So make sure you arrive in plenty of time to be included.
Wroxall Abbey has a limited number of rooms available and their function room for Saturday night’s dinner, can only seat 70 people. If you would like to get involved in this event, please don’t delay in returning your entry.
