Work with Your Knights of Columbus Field Agent
The Knights of Columbus insurance program is operated for members and their families and relies on council-agent teamwork for its success while providing the financial backbone for all the Order’s good works.
We often refer to insurance as your greatest membership benefit. It can also be a compelling reason for a man to join the Knights of Columbus. Many men – even those who don’t have a great deal of time – can find it attractive to be able to protect their family with top quality life insurance while helping to support the many good works of the Order.
Your council needs to work as closely as possible with its field agent for both member recruiting and member retention. Your council executive team and your members need to get to know their field agent. Call on him to be a part of your recruitment team. Remember, he is a professionally trained salesman, work with him.

Knights of Columbus Surpasses $100 Billion of Life Insurance in Force

Milestone highlights K of C’s financial protection of Catholic families
The Knights of Columbus surpassed $100 billion of life insurance in force this week, marking an important milestone in the Catholic fraternal benefit society’s mission to protect the future of Catholic families.
This milestone was achieved despite continuing adverse conditions affecting the insurance industry.
Established in 1882 by a young Catholic priest, the organization — which offers its line of top-rated products exclusively to its members and their eligible family members — manages $21 billion in assets and ranks 939 on the 2015 Fortune 1000 list, placing it among the largest life insurers in North America.
“The $100 billion milestone is not simply a number,” said Knights of Columbus CEO Carl A. Anderson. “It highlights the fact that each year we are protecting the future of more Catholic families, continuing the mission of our founder, Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney.”
The Knights of Columbus offers insurance to its members and their families through a network of more than 1,500 dedicated, professional agents in the United States and Canada — all of whom are members of the Knights of Columbus.
“With each dollar of top-rated insurance in force that our professional agency force adds, additional, meaningful security is provided to the families whose livelihoods we protect,” said Anderson.
The $100 billion milestone caps a year in which the Knights of Columbus set a new record for insurance sales with $8 billion sold, earned the top rating of A++ Superior from AM Best for the 40th consecutive year, and was named a “World’s Most Ethical Company” for the second consecutive year by the Ethisphere Institute®.

K of C Insurance Marks 15th Consecutive Year of Sales Growth

|
The Knights of Columbus recorded its 15th consecutive year of insurance sales growth in 2015, issuing more than $8.4 billion of individual life insurance. The record sales have led to an increase of $50 billion in the last decade.
The 15th consecutive year was also a historic one for the Order. On Nov. 3, the Knights of Columbus surpassed $100 billion of life insurance in force, cementing its position as one of the largest life insurers in North America.
“I firmly believe that our moral compass has helped guide us through a turbulent decade and an uncertain economy,” said Supreme Knight Carl Anderson. “While other companies were making ethically questionable and unnecessarily risky decisions, we were not. While others were looking for novel ways to do business and to increase profits, we were not. Our ethical practices, in fact, received international recognition in 2014 and 2015, when the Ethisphere Institute designated the Knights of Columbus as a World’s Most Ethical Company®. .”
The Knights was one of only three companies to receive that designation in the life insurance category. In August, the Knights of Columbus earned its 40th consecutive highest possible rating for financial strength, A++ (Superior), by ratings agency A. M. Best.
Utilizing its professional field force of more than 1,500 agents across North America, the Knights of Columbus — which has one of the lowest lapse rates in the industry — offers a product line especially designed to meet the needs of Catholic families. The line provides life insurance, annuities, disability income and long-term care policies.
