Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the international conference “Advances in the biology of shrews IV” – the continuation of presumably the most important and fruitful conference series for shrew research. The previous three meetings took place in Powdermill (USA) in 1990 and 2002, and Syktyvkar (Russia) in 2010 – see attached file “Previous meetings. pdf”. The fourth conference will be held at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (western Poland) from 12 to 14 September 2016. The post-conference excursion to Biebrza Marshes (and the Field Station of the University of Białystok in Gugny) and Białowieża Primeval Forest (eastern Poland) is proposed for the period 15-18 September 2016.

The main expected topics are:

Ecology, behaviour & physiology Morphological, molecular & cytogenetic diversity Zoogeography & systematics Parasites, diseases, threats & protection

However, the conference will be dedicated to all aspects of shrew ggestions concerning the organization of thematic symposia and round-table discussions within the framework of the conference are welcome.
