Partnerships with Business & Industry:

At South Piedmont Community College we have formed a dynamic working relationship in Union County with the French-based company Turbomeca. Turbomeca is the largest manufacturer of helicopter engines in the world and they are building a brand new manufacturing facility right in our own backyard! Even before the first brick was placed, our Human Resources Development (HRD) and Business & Industry staff worked closely with Turbomeca’s Human Resource Director, Janet Sweet, to test each perspective new hire using CRC – WorkKeys Assessments. Turbomeca plans on employing over 400 individuals within the next 3 years.

Career Readiness Certification Scholarships were awarded to Turbomeca job applicants using state allocated New Industry Training funds secured by Todd Morris, our Director of Business & Industry Training.
