Private Debt Internship Application Form Closing Deadline: 10 April 2016 |
BlueBay are next generation fixed income specialists. The firm was founded in 2001 in response to new opportunities in the European corporate debt market, and in anticipation of the expansion of emerging market fixed income as an institutional asset class.
Then as now, we aim to offer clients new thinking and fresh opportunities. With our hedge fund heritage and by staying true to our specialist fixed income roots, we pioneer new investment strategies using our broad range of sub‐asset class expertise spanning convertibles, emerging markets, investment grade, leveraged finance and multi-asset credit.

We invest for our clients across the fixed income spectrum on a global scale, from long‐only portfolios to hedge funds/alternatives. We also blend investment styles and use a range of sophisticated tools in order to exploit all factors of return.

BlueBay’s Private Debt strategy was initiated in November 2011 as part of the Global Leveraged Finance strategy. Since then the PD team has grown from 3 to 12 individuals. The strategy aims to deliver holistic financing solutions across the entire capital structure to European mid-market companies. This is in response to the financing gap created by the retrenchment of traditional bank lenders, who have been reducing their corporate loan books (in particular loans to small and medium-sized enterprises) in response to stricter capital and liquidity regulation as well as legacy issues following the financial crisis. The first Private Debt Fund, BlueBay Direct Lending Fund I, is €810 million in size and is fully-invested in 21 investments across a diverse range of businesses and sectors throughout Europe. In November 2015, BlueBay held a final close on its second Private Debt Fund, Direct Lending Fund II, at c. €2.8 billion (including co-invest vehicles). This fund is already c. 30% committed as of March 2016; as such the team is in the early stages of fundraising for a third Private Debt fund. | |
