Цели урока:
1. Обучающая –
-активизировать использование лексики по теме « Главные города Америки»,
-обобщить изученный материал,
-совершенствовать устную монологическую речь учащихся,
2. Развивающая -
-находить и обрабатывать конкретную информацию ;
-оценивать информацию оппонента и высказывать своё мнение;
-расширять страноведческие и культурологические знания;
-расширять кругозор учащихся;
-развивать творческий потенциал учащихся.
3. Воспитательная –
-учить уважать и ценить культуру других народов;
-воспитывать уважение к собственной культуре
- любить вою Родину.
Задачи урока:
-. Использовать ситуацию, изложенную в отрывках фильмов и в текстах о городах Америки в качестве языковой и речевой опоры для построения собственных высказываний;
-совершенствовать приёмы поискового чтения и аудирования;
-применять знания об употреблении артикля с географическими названиями;
Оборудование: ноутбук, мультимедийный проектор, экран, презентации, CD, УМК.
Урок в рамках темы самообразования « Применение ИКТ на уроках английского языка».
План урока:
1.Организационный момент ,знакомство с темой урока. Hello everybody! How are you doing? Have you ever been to America? Would you like to travel to the main cities of the USA? Let us see an extract from the film about them. Учащимся демонстрируется отрывок фильма о главных городах США.
2 Развитие навыков аудирования : общая информация о США.
The USA is a federation. This means that the country consists of 50 states and one independent district ( the District of Columbia (DC)) united together. National capital is Washington DC. Every state has its own government, capital, laws, regulations, a nickname, a slogan and state emblems.
It is situated in the central part of North America.
The number of people living in the States is more than 300 million. The main part of its population lives in cities and towns. The largest and most important are Washington, the capital of the USA, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles

Washington is the national capital of the USA. It stands on the Potomac River. It is located in the District of Columbia. The District of Columbia does not belong to any state. The capital is named after the first American President George Washington. Washington is called “ The heart of America”. In 1800 government offices were moved to the city, since that time it has been the federal capital where the President lives. Washington is not an industrial city, the only industry here is the government.

Welcome to New –York, one of the main global cities in the world. NY is a multinational city. New –Yorkers speak about 75 different languages. It is a big sea port situated on the Hudson river.
It is the city with the largest population in America. It has a population of almost 19 million people of various nationalities.
It is located in the state of business, financial and cultural life in many ways. New York is the city which never sleeps, it is called “The BIG APPLE” because everybody wants to bite it.
