Методическая задача: дать учащимся знания страноведческого характера, активизировать интерес к изучению английского языка.

Цель: Расширить кругозор учащихся и обогатить их знания о жизни зарубежных сверстников.

Учитель: Good afternoon our friends, teachers and guests! Welcome to our party!

Ведущий: Hi, witches, devils, vampires, ghouls and other evil spirits. Keep quiet for a minute, will you.

Hello, dear goblins and watersprites, mermaids and ghosts, all evil spirits. We haven’t seen one another for a whole year. Thank you for coming to our party. You will have a nice time here. There is a nice holiday for children in Great Britain and America - Halloween.

Russian Girl: Интересно, а что это за праздник - «Хеллоуин» и слово какое-то непонятное.

Russian Boy: Holy значит «святой» «Holy evening»- это значит святой вечер, вечер накануне Дня всех Святых. В этот вечер вся нечистая сила: черти, ведьмы, приведения выползают на свет божий, чтобы совершать мерзкие злодеяния.

Halloween was first celebrated many centuries ago in Ireland and Scotland by Celtic priests called Druids. They observed the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. The Druids thought that Halloween was the night when the witches came out. As they were afraid of the witches they put on different clothes and painted their faces to deceive the evil spirits. They placed food and small gifts near the doors of their houses for the witches. This was, as they say now the beginning of the expression « trick or treat».

Хеллоуин отмечается каждый год 31 октября Дети особенно любят этот праздник, несмотря на то, что школьные занятия в этот день не отменяются. Утром к школам стекаются странные существа в масках и живописных костюмах, ведь в большинстве школ устраиваются праздники с угощением - Halloween parties. Но самое интересное начинается после уроков, когда дети в своих костюмах отправляются по домам « выпрашивать» сладости. Конечно, хозяйки к этому дню заранее запасаются чем-нибудь вкусненьким для этих гостей, но всё же, придя в дом, полагается сказать «Trick or treat» что означает примерно «Если не угостите, то мы вам насолим»

Действующие лица: Mr. Brown, Mrs Brown, Nick, Jane, Mr. Rodrigo, children.

Mrs Brown: Where are you going tonight, Nick?

Nick: To the party. My friend Sam will come to me at seven o’clock(стук в дверь).

Mr. Brown: Somebody is knocking at the door.

Mrs. Brown: Come in. Oh, it’s your friend Rodrigo.

Mr. Brown: My friend from Brazil! How are you?

Rodrigo: Just fine. I went to London two hours ago.

Jane: Have you ever been to England?

Rodrigo No, I haven’t.

Mrs. Brown: I can see you are wearing the light clothes

Rodrigo: You are right. The weather was warm and dry.

Jane: But in England we have not very good weather today. It’s rainy and windy.

Nick: It’s all the same. It’s a nice day today.

Rodrigo Why do you think so?

Nick: On the 31- st of October English people celebrate a nice holiday-Halloween. It’s a holiday for children. They dress up in the funny clothes and go from house to house and say «Trick or treat? »

Rodrigo Trick or treat? What do you mean?

Nick: Nothing dangerous. If people give us a treat-we’ll say thank you and go away. But if they don’t we’ll play a trick on them.

(Стук в дверь. Заходят 4 детей в костюмах)

Children: Trick or treat

(Миссис Браун дает конфеты)

Children Trick or treat/ 3 раза

(Детям на третий раз ничего не дают, они достают воздушный шар и хлопают его. Хозяева дают детям орехи и они уходят.

Jane: It’s a nice, funny holiday, isn’t it?

It is considered that Halloween was brought to America by the immigrants from Ireland and Scotland. In the 19-th century they celebrated Halloween according to their old traditions.

В последнее время всё более популярным становятся конкурсы по разрисовыванию витрин и окон. Магазины, банки, поликлиники, различные учреждения представляют свои окна и витрины в распоряжение школьников, которые специальной легко смывающейся краской раскрашивают их так, как подсказывает им их фантазия. Задолго до праздника преображаются и жилые дома. Традиционное украшение « Jack-o - lantern»- пустая тыква с вырезанными глазами, носом и ртом, внутрь которой ставится зажжённая свеча.

Russian Girl: Есть ещё одна интересная особенность этого праздника. В древности люди, чтобы вспугнуть духи умерших и нечистую силу зажигали огонь, а сейчас, чтобы отогнать приведения они используют фонари, но необыкновенные.

Russian Boy: О, да это же тыква. Вот почему традиционные цвета праздника: оранжевый и черный.

Мальчик жестами показывает на тыкву, как вырезаны глаза, рот и нос и ставит свечку в получившийся фонарь.

You take a pumpkin, cut out the eyes, the nose, the mouth and put the candle inside the pumpkin ( зажигает свечу). So the pumpkin looks like a lantern

Teacher: Boys and girls! Let’s play the game « Put the nose on the pumpkin». Who wants to play. You must put the nose on the right place with closed eyes.(завязать глаза и повернуть 3 раза)

Russian Boy: Праздник Хеллоуин - это как карнавал. Раньше люди боялись нечистой силы и чтобы обмануть её наряжались в костюмы и маски, разрисовывали маски.

Teacher: Look at these beautiful masks. They are made by our pupils. All pupils took part in the competition for the best mask. The first prize is given to…

Let’s play the game « Cut the mask». You must cut one of the masks with closed eyes and then you’ll get a present.

Russian Girl: Кстати на приглашении к празднику изображен черный кот. У нас он - дурная примета, а как в Англии?

Russian Boy: Раньше полегали, что в черных котов превращались люди, совершившие зло, вот почему черный кот - это часть праздника, это оборотень.

Russian Girl: Но это ещё не всё. Есть много других приятных и весёлых моментов в этом празднике. В древнем Риме в октябре был праздник богини плодородия. Поэтому в Хеллоуин все любят вкусно поесть и по традиции жарят орехи и яблоки по - древнеримски. С этим обычаем связана английская игра «Нырни за яблоком».

Teather: Now let’s play a traditional English game. Look there is some water in the bowl. There is an apple in the water. You must catch an apple with the help of your mouth. Who will be the first?
