Present Continuous
Утвердительная форма
I am working
You are working
He, she, it is working
We are working
They are working
Отрицательная форма
I’m not working
You are not (aren’t) working
He, she, it isn’t working ….
Вопросительная форма
Am I working?
Are you working?
Is he working? …
Употребление:
1) для обозначения действий, происходящих в момент речи:
The children are sleeping right now.
2) Временные действия, т. е. происходящие не постоянно, а в данное время:
The Greens are looking for a babysitter at the moment.
3) действия, которые произойдут в ближайшем будущем. Место и время проведения этих действий уже обговорены заранее:
They are flying to Canada at 7 o’clock this evening.
Индикаторы времени: now, at the moment, these days, nowadays, at present.
Глаголы, которые не употребляются во временах группы Continuous:
Это глаголы, описывающие состояние, а не действие:
1) глаголы, обозначающие вкусы и пристрастия: like, love, hate, dislike, can’t stand, don’t mind, prefer, enjoy …
! Обычно после этих глаголов следует существительное или глагол с –ing окончанием:
She can’t stand cats.
He loves playing basketball.
2) глаголы восприятия: believe, know, notice, remember, forget, understand, think …
I don’t understand the meaning of this word.
3) глаголы чувств: see, hear, feel, taste, look, smell, sound. Когда мы говорим о том, что мы видим, слышим и т. д. в момент речи мы употребляем с этими глаголами can, could.
The cake tastes delicious.
I can hear children’s voices, coming from the playground
4) некоторые другие глаголы: fit, contain, belong, cost, owe, mean, own, appear, want, have ( в значении иметь, обладать) и т. д.
new! некоторые из вышеперечисленных глаголов могут употребляться в продолженном времени, но с другим значением.
1) I think she needs help. = (I believe… я полагаю)
I’m thinking about buying a new car. = ( I’m considering… я обдумываю)
2) The cake tastes delicious! = ( This cake has a delicious flavour. У этого пирога прекрасный вкус.)
He’s tasting the cake. = (He’s tasting the flavour of … Он пробует вкус пирога.)
3) I can see a light in the distance. (= I can actually see)
I’m seeing Tom this evening. (I’m meeting …)
4) George looks very tired. (George appears to be … Джордж выглядит усталым)
John is looking at an old map. (= John is studying …)
5) The kitchen always smells of freshly baked bread. (= the kitchen always has the smell of … У кухни всегда запах свежеиспеченного хлеба)
Why is the lady smelling the perfume? (= why is the lady sniffing.. почему женщина нюхает духи?)
6) The material feels soft. (= This material has a soft texture …)
A: Why are you feeling Sam’s forehead? (= Why are you touching …)
B: Because I think he’s got a temperature.
7) She has a beautiful old house. (= she owns/possesses…)
We are having dinner. ( =we are eating…)
Training:
1) Добавьте к глаголам –ing, произведите необходимые изменения и поместите в подходящую колонку:
draw, lie, dive, put, live, cut, drink, run, sit, tie, give, apply, grow, begin, type, die, repair, study, get.
Глагол + - ing Drawing,
-ie = y + ing Lying,
-e = ing Diving,
Закрытый слог = удвоение последней согласной + ing Putting,
