Учитель:Hello students, dear guests, Russian and foreigners!
I think a person can’t study the language and culture of other countries and can’t appreciate them, if he doesn’t know his own country. That’s why today we’d like to tell you about Russia, to listen about Russia and its people. I absolutely agree with Robert Burns who said:”He who doesn’t love his country loves nothing.” And let’s this saying be the epigraph to our lesson. I expect the lesson to be very interesting and exciting today because we are going to talk about your dearest and most favourite place on the Earth, about the greatest and most powerful country, about our Russia.

-What would you like to see in our country?
Everything, but it is impossible. But we hope to see your capital with its famous Red Square, Bolshoi Theatre, Snt. Basil’s Cathedral and Tretyakov Gallery.
-My dream is to see Snt. Petersburgh. I’ve heard that it is the oldest, the most beautiful and historic capital with its heroic past.
-As for me I dreamt to visit your multinational republic. It’very difficult for me to imagine your 3 mln. Population speak over……..languages. I admire the beauty of your mountains, Caspian Sea and of course hospitability of your people.

Mountains occupy the most part of the republic and has a very picturesque landscape with its forests, glaciers and waterfalls. The beach at the Caspian seaside attracts a lot of holiday-makers in summer. Dagestan is the most multinational republic of Russia. More than 30 nationalities and ethnic groups live here. Our republic is famous for writers, poets, artists and for its folk art.

Derbent is the second largest and ancient town in Dagestan. It was founded in the 7th century. It is famous for its historical monuments as Narynkala and Citadel. Dagestan is rich in oil and natural gas. Industry is developed as well as agriculture.
