УРОК – ПУТЕШЕСТВИЕ  «WELCOME TO LONDON!»

“When a man is tired of London,

he is tired of life”  ( Dr Johnson )

Цель: Формирование речевых навыков учащихся

Задачи: 1.Познавательный аспект - активизация лексики по теме в речи учащихся;  совершенствовать навыки чтения ( общее понимание текста)

2.Развивающий аспект – развитие внимания и памяти, логики при выстраивании высказывания

3. Воспитательный аспект – воспитание чувства любознательности, расширение знаний учащихся о культуре страны изучаемого языка

Оснащение: карта Лондона, проектор, CD к учебнику 6кл., презентация “Welcome to London”, карточки с названиями стран, упражнения проецируются на экран через компьютер.

  Ход урока:

1.Организационный момент

Good morning, everybody! Glad to see you. I know people like to travel. I’m sure

you ‘ve travelled a lot this summer, haven’t you? What countries did you visit? (на доске карточки с названиями часто посещаемых стран – Egypt, France, the Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria ). Did you like the  travelling? I wonder, has anybody been to England? Nobody? Neither have I. It’s a pity! Then let’s have a trip to London, welcome to the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It’s worth visiting!

London is not rich in parks and gardens. The Royal Parks are the property of the royal family. You can take part in many activities in London parks. You can find London  Zoo in Hyde Park. The Queen of Britain lives in Westminster Abbey.

If you were in London, what place would you visit and why?

Let's start our trip. Look at slides  and read the texts. After the  “trip” we’ll try to do the task about the most interesting places of London. So our stations are:

Big Ben  b) the Thames  c) St. Paul’s Cathedral Piccadilly  e)Madame Tussaud’s Museum  f) Trafalgar Square Tower Bridge  h) Buckingham Palace  i) Westminster Abbey Oxford Street  k) Greenwich

8. You can see waxworks there.

9. It’s a circular open space at a street junction.

10.It’s the busiest shopping place.

11.You can see the meridian here.

Now open your books, page 85, ex.24. Read the phrases, describe London, give your examples and share your opinions. Work in groups of four on one statement.( 4 minutes are given ). One of you  will present the story.  Please, tell us about sights you’ve seen today.  Don’t forget to use the following: To my mind, I’m sure, No doubt, I know, As far as I know…
