Урок в 10 классе Environmental Protection
Цель: развитие монологических навыков по теме «Защита окружающей среды». Развивать мышление, внимание, речь; воспитывать самостоятельность.
Задачи:
Обучающие: совершенствование коммуникативных умений; увеличение объема знаний по теме; увеличение объема используемых лексических единиц, создать условия для осознанного применения знаний. Стимулировать интерес ребят к определенным проблемам, предполагающим владение определенной суммой знаний и через проектную деятельность, предусматривающую решение проблем, показать практическое применение полученных знаний.
Развивающие: развитие навыков аудирования; монологического высказывания по теме; развитие лексических и грамматических навыков. Формировать умения сравнивать, обобщать и делать выводы по предложенной теме. Развивать умения учащихся работать в группах и самостоятельно, объективно оценивать свои знания.
Воспитательные: воспитывать культуру общения, чувство ответственности за результаты своего труда, сопереживания, совершенствовать навыки групповой работы.
Оборудование: учебник и тетрадь, диск, плакаты, раздаточный материал по теме, доска, презентация.
Формы организации познавательной деятельности: фронтальная, групповая.
Пояснительная записка. Этот урок является одной из тем изучаемых учащимися в 10 классе, имеет большое значение в нашей жизни, т. к. сегодня мы стоим перед лицом экологической катастрофы. И чтобы решить эту проблему, каждый человек на земле большой или маленький должен внести свою лепту, только сообща, все вместе, мы сможем решить эту проблему. Урок включает в себя методы ИКТ и технологии развития критического мышления, групповую и фронтальную работу учащихся, метод проектов. Итогом урока стала разработка своих предложений по улучшению условий с окружающей нас средой и устранению загрязнений на нашей земле. Урок закрепления изученного, по технологии проектного обучения с применением знаний и умений в работе с монологической речью и аудированием.
План-конспект урока
I Introduction
T: Good morning, dear boys and girls. I’m very glad to see you at our lesson. How are you today? I’m sure that you are full of energy to do our lesson interesting and rich.
I won’t tell you the theme of our lesson. I want you to look at the screen and listen to the song. What’s the song about? What’s the problem of this song? (Слайд 1)
You have just listened to Michael Jackson’s song, which is called The Earth Song. What is this song about?
P: This song is about ecological problems on the Earth.
And one of his question in the song was “Did you ever stop to notice the Crying Earth, the weeping shores?” Did you think about environmental pollution?
P: Yes, I did
T: Why should we discuss the problem of the environmental pollution? Why do people all over the world discuss it?
P1: Because we live in the world where there are a lot of ecological problems.
P2: Nowadays the global situation in ecology is very serious.
T: What does the word “environment” mean to you? What do you think is in danger today?
P: Forests, animals, rivers, lakes, seas, climate, insects, the Earth.
T: You are right. Many species of animals, forests disappear every year. Rivers, lakes become smaller and shallower. And you know water is essential to life.
The most serious ecological problems today are water pollution, air pollution and land pollution. Many people are worried about it. And you know that ecological situation in our town is very serious. Today we will speak about how to prevent our Earth from rubbish and pollution. We will read the text about saving the environment. And what should we do to stop the crying of the Earth? (Слайд). This is the question which we’ll answer at our lesson.
Here you can see the words of English critic Cyril Connoly “We create the world in which we live, if that world becomes unfit for human life, it is because we tire of our responsibility.”(на доске).
T: Can you comment on these words. How do you understand it?
P1: People must take care of the place they live.
P2: People should protect the Earth.
P3: People are responsible for the Earth, for the place they live.
II Presenting vocabulary.
To prevent our Earth from pollution we should remember the rule of 3 Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle (Слайд).
T: What can we reduce?

T: the amount of water we use, energy consumption…

Open your textbooks at p.64 ex.1. What should we do to protect the environment? Use the ideas listed to make sentences.

P1: As for me I try to reduce the amount of water.
P2: I personally try to reduce energy consumption.
III Reading.
a)Listening for checking lexico-grammatical exercise
Your home task for today was reading the text for detailed understanding p. 65. I asked you to do lexico-grammatical exercise. Ex.2b p. 64. Listen to the text and check your answers. Pay attention to the words in bold and highlighted phrasal verbs. We’ll lexico-grammatical exercises
b) Practicing new vocabulary.
1. Find all words in bold in the text.
Look at the plete the sentences with the words in bold.(Слайд)
2. Pay attention to the highlighted phrasal verbs in the text. You can see them on the screen.
Match the highlighted phrasal verbs with their meanings from Ex. 4 p. 64
Come up with – think of

3. Make sentences with these phrasal verbs

c) Developing speaking.
We’ve learned how we can reduce, reuse and recycle stuff. And answer my questions.
1. How can we reuse vegetable/fruit peelings?
2. How can we reuse old clothes?
3. How can we reuse old jars and bottles?
4. What should we do to reduce energy consumption?
5. What else can we reduce. How to do it? (excessive packaging, paper consumption).
IV Making projects.
And now I suggest you to start a “Use Less Stuff campaign at your school.” Encourage other children to cut down on waste too. We have three groups. The first group will give advice what we can reduce and how to do it. The second group will give advice what we can reuse and how to do it. The first group will give advice what we can recycle. Make posters. Give practical advice. Decorate the posters with pictures. (звучит песня Louis Armstrong “Wonderful world”)
