Location of the course within the educational program

The program of the course «Russian language» is developed following the requirements of the FSHES in the field 31.05.01 «General medicine». The course «Russian language» is the course of humanitarian, social and economic cycle belonging to the basis of Federal State Higher Education Standard (FSHES) for higher education in the field of 31.05.01 «General medicine».

The knowledge of Russian provides foreign students with the necessary basis for successful communication in a Russian language environment, in educational and professional communication spheres. Essential language and speech skills in reading, listening, speaking and writing are formed among the students.

Readiness to communicate in spoken and written forms in Russian language for solving professional tasks.

Purpose  of the course

The course is aimed at the formation of readiness to communicate in Russian language at the base level according to the FSHES.

Objectives of the course

A. READING TRAINING

Students should be able to: to use different types of reading depending on the goals; to determine the text subject, to understand its main idea; to understand as basic so additional information, which contains in a text with sufficient completeness, depth and accuracy; to interpret the information contained in a text, the author's conclusions and assessments.

Reading rate: for reading to study - 40-50 words per minute; for introductory reading – 80 -100 words per minute.

B. WRITING TRAINING

Students should be able to produce: a written monologue on a given topic; a written monologue on a given topic on the basis of a heard or read text.

The text, which a student produced, should be get up following modern Russian language norms and contains 20-25 sentences.

C. SPEAKING TRAINING

The monologue.

Students should be able to: to produce cohesive, logical utterance following a given topic independently; to build an utterance on the basis of heard or read text (narration, description, report and also texts of the mixed type with elements of argumentation); to reproduce the content, main idea of a heard or read text and to express own attitude to the facts, the events, which are described in a text, characters and their actions.

The dialogue.

Students should be able to: to understand the content of interlocutor’s utterances in certain situations; to respond to interlocutor’s utterances adequately; to initiate a dialogue in different speech situations with different goals.

D. LISTENING TRAINING

Listening of monologues.

Students should understand information by ear, which contains in a monologue: subject, main idea, basic and additional information of each notional part with sufficient completeness, depth and accuracy. 

Listening of dialogues.

Students should understand the gist of a dialogue, communicative intentions of its participants by ear.

3. Тема «Семья». Диалог «Где ты живешь?».

4. Тема «Выходной день». Диалог «Ты любишь ходить в кино?».

5. Тема «Мой рабочий день». Диалог «В столовой» / «В кафе».

6. Тема «Библиотека». Диалог «В библиотеке», "Экскурсия в библиотеку".

7. Тема «Мой дом». Диалоги «В общежитии» / «В деканате».

8. Тема «Моё свободное время». Диалог «Что ты будешь делать вечером / в воскресенье?».

9. Тема «Мой день рождения». Диалоги: «Я иду в магазин за продуктами», «Я покупаю подарки».

10. Повторение изученных тем. Диалоги «В гостинице», «В номере», «В городе» (2).

11. Повторение изученных тем. Тема «Урок русского языка» (2). Диалоги «В поликлинике». Ролевые игры «В регистратуре», «На приеме у врача».

12. Тема «Мой друг / мой сосед» (характеристика человека). Диалоги «На вокзале», «На стоянке такси», «В аэропорту», "На таможне".

13. Тема «Моя будущая профессия». Диалог «Знакомство» (2) – расширение лексики, использование более сложных конструкций.

14. Диалог «Ты любишь заниматься спортом?» Повторение изученных тем.
