Внеклассное мероприятие, посвящённое Дню Благодарения 5-7 классы

Цель: знакомство с обычаями и традициями англоязычных стран;

совершенствование навыков аудирования, чтения и устной речи.

Задачи:

Образовательная: расширять лингвистический кругозор учащихся.

Развивающая: развивать творческие и языковые способности учащихся, внимание, мышление и воображение.

Воспитательная: способствовать воспитанию толерантности к представителям других культур, повышать мотивацию к дальнейшему изучению иностранного языка.

Оборудование: рисунок корабля “Mayflower”, тексты песен, видео «Парад», «Из истории Дня Благодарения», презентация-викторина, карточки с вариантами ответа, слова THANKS.

Подготовительный этап:  ведущие учат слова.

P1:Today we are going to talk about one of the oldest holidays in the USA – Thanksgiving Day.

P2:They decorate their houses with autumn fruit and flowers and prepare traditional

American food: roast turkey, potatoes and pumpkin.

P1:People go to churches; families come together for that day.

P3:It is Thanksgiving.
It is Thanksgiving.

Friends and family near,
Filled with holiday cheer.

P2: From The History of Thanksgiving day

T: And now we’re going to watch a short film (Watching the video «From The History of Thanksgiving day»)

P4:The pilgrims sailed to America from Plymouth, England, in September, 1620. They came to America for religious freedom.

P5:They were among the first European settlers in America. The name of their ship was the "Mayflower." Their voyage took 66 days. There were 102 people.

P6:They landed at Plymouth Rock, in what’s now the state of Massachusetts in December, 1620.

P7:Пилигримы отправились в Америку на корабле из города Плимута Англии в сентябре 1620 года. Они хотели найти в Америке религиозную свободу. Пилигримы были среди первых поселенцев в Америке. Их корабль назывался Мэйфлауэр. Путешествие длилось 66 дней и на борту корабля находилось 102 человека.

P4:There were people living in America before the pilgrims arrived. These people were the Native American Indians.

P5:The first winter was very cold. The Pilgrims were hungry. they had lost 46 of the original 102 who sailed on the Mayflower

P6:Native Indians taught the Pilgrims how to plant, to fish and hunt.

P7:В этих краях жили люди - коренные жители американские индейцы. В первую зиму пилигримам было очень тяжело - холод, голод и болезни. очень много людей погибло, из102 осталось только 46 англичан. Индейци научили пилигримов охотится, ловить рыбу и выращивать растения

P4:In the autumn 1621 the colonists had their first harvest. It was rather good.

P5:The colonists decided to have special dinner and celebrate with a feast - including 90 Indians who had helped the Pilgrims survive their first year.

P6:They wanted to thank God, they gave thanks for their good harvest and their happy year in a new country. The feast lasted three days.

P7:На следующую осень у колонистов был первый урожай, и довольно хороший. Люди решили устроить особый обед и устроить пир. они решили поблагодарить 90 индейцев, которые помогли им выжить в первый год. P4:In 1873, George Washington, the first President of The United States, proclaimed the first Thanksgiving Day for all Americans. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.

Children sing a song “We all sit down”

P1:Thanksgiving Day has got symbols and foods.

They decorate schools, homes, stores with various symbols, including pictures of pilgrims, Indians, turkeys and harvest symbols. The horn of plenty, wreaths of dried flowers, and dried, multi-colored «Indian corn» are often used as door and table decorations.

P2:Thanksgiving is a family day. It is a custom for all members of the family to gather at the home of their parents. Several generations of the family gather for Thanksgiving dinner. All give thanks together for the good things that they have and sing songs.

P8:Mother makes the dinner.
Grandma brings the pies.
Father carves the turkey.
And I will tell you why. Today is very special
We’re thankful, so we say,
“Peace and love to everyone”
It’s Thanksgiving Day!

P1:Traditionally this feast features roast turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie. All give thanks together for the good things that they have.

P2:A Thanksgiving Day Parade and a Professional football game on that day is another tradition for the Americans. The first parade was in 1920. It was a parade of toys in Philadelphia.
