Boris Vuychich realized that he had to leave the room immediately, so that his wife did not have time to notice how he changed in the face. He could not believe what he saw.

Nick’s childhood

Nicholas Vuychich was born in Australian Melbourne in the family of Serbian emigrants. Mother is a nurse. Father is a pastor. The whole parish lamented: “Why did the Lord allow this?” Pregnancy proceeded normally, with heredity everything is in order.

At first the mother could not bring herself to take her son in her arms, she could not breast-feed him. "I had no idea how to take the child home, what to do with him, how to take care of him”, recalls Dushka Vuyvich. – “I did not know who to address with my questions. Even the doctors were at a loss. Only in four months I began to come to my senses. My husband and I began to solve problems without looking far ahead. One by one. “

Nick has a semblance of a foot instead of a left foot. Thanks to this, the boy learned to walk, swim, skate, play on the computer and write. Parents have achieved that the son was taken to a regular school. Nick became the first disabled child in an ordinary Australian school.

"It meant that teachers surrounded me with too much attention," recalls Nick. - On the other hand, although I had two friends, most of the time I heard from my peers: "Nick, go away!", "Nick, you do not know anything!", "We do not want to be friends with you!", "You're nobody! "

Every evening, Nick prayed to God and asked him: "God, give me arms and legs!" He cried and hoped that when he wakes up in the morning, hands and feet will already appear. Mom and Dad bought him electronic hands. But they were too heavy, and the boy could not use them.
On Sundays, he attended classes at a church school. There they taught that the Lord loved everyone. Nick did not understand how it could be - why then God did not give him what everyone has. Sometimes adults approached and said: "Nick, everything will be fine with you!" But he did not believe them - no one could explain to him why he was so, and no one could help him, even God. At eight, Nicholas decided to drown himself in the tub. He asked my mother to take him there.

He can not work, he can not take his bride by the hand, he can not take his child in his arms when he cries. One day my mother read to Nika an article about a seriously ill person who inspired others to live.

Mom said: "Nick, you need God. I do not know how. I do not know when. But you can serve Him. "

Nick came home and told his parents that he knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Father first asked: "And do you think the University is going to end?" Then other questions arose:

One hundred attempts to rise
Ten months of the year he is on his way, two months at home. He traveled more than two dozen countries, he heard more than three million people - in schools, nursing homes, prisons. Sometimes, Nick says at the stadiums, many thousands. He speaks about 250 times a year. In a week, Nick receives about three hundred proposals for new performances. He became a professional speaker.

And he continues: "In life, it happens that you fall, and it seems that there is no strength to rise. You wonder if you have hope... I have neither hands nor feet! It seems that if I try to get up a hundred times, I can not do it. But after another defeat, I leave no hope. I'll try again and again. I want you to know that failure is not the end. The main thing is how you finish. Are you going to finish strong? Then you will find the strength to rise - this way. "
He leans his forehead, then helps himself with his shoulders and gets up.
Women in the hall begin to cry.
And Nick begins to talk about gratitude to God.

Nick can not shake hands with anyone - he embraces people. And even set a world record. The guy without arms embraced 1749 people per hour. He wrote a book about his life, typing 43 words per minute on the computer. In the intervals between working trips he fishes, plays golf and surfs.

"I do not always get up in the morning with a smile on my face. Sometimes, the back hurts, - says Nick, - But, because in my principles there is a great power, I continue to take small steps forward, the steps of the baby. Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the ability to act, relying not on one's own strength, but on the help of God.
Usually the parents of disabled children get divorced. My parents did not divorce. Do you think they were scared? Yes. Do you think they trusted in God? Yes. Do you think that now they see the fruits of their labors? Quite right.

Belief in God

How many people would believe if they showed me on TV and said: "This guy prayed to the Lord and he had arms and legs"? But when people see me as I am, they are perplexed: "How can you smile?" For them, this is a visible miracle. I need my tests so that I understand how dependent I am on God. Other people need my testimony that "the power of God is made perfect in weakness." They look into the eyes of a man without arms and legs and see in them a world, joy is something that everyone strives for. "
