Цель: расширить и углубить знания учащихся об Австралии, в частности об истории, культуре, традициях, обычаях этой страны.
Задачи:
Образовательные: расширение культуроведческой осведомленности о современном социокультурном портрете страны
Воспитательные: воспитание интереса и положительного отношения к изучаемому языку
Развивающие: развитие речемыслительной деятельности учащихся; развитие логики, способности к догадке, развитие навыков контроля и самоконтроля; развитие умения работать индивидуально и коллективно
Оснащение урока:
компьютерная презентация PowerPoint Jeopardy style game (или «Своя игра»)
ХОД ИГРЫ:
В викторине участвуют две команды. Команды по очереди выбирают номинацию с вопросами. Каждый вопрос имеет определенную «цену». На обсуждение вопроса и ответ дается до 30 секунд. Если ответ верен, команда получают определенное количество баллов. В случае неверного ответа, вторая команда получает право ответить на этот вопрос и заработать дополнительное количество баллов. Затем очередь переходит к другой команде. Выигрывает та команда, которая наберет наибольшее количество баллов.

Good afternoon! We are glad to greet you at our lesson!
Today we are going to have a quiz.
Let’s form (get into) 2 teams, each under a captain. I’ll be a quiz-master.
Now choose a name for yourselves. Think of a name.

2. Основной этап
1) Представление команд, капитанов, объяснение правил игры.
OK. Now listen to the rules of our quiz. The rules are very simple. The quiz consists of 3 rounds; each of them includes some questions. These questions deal with the English history, geography, culture and literature.
If the team can answer correctly the question, it will get some points. If they give the wrong answer or no answer, I’ll ask another team. Teams take it in turns to start answer. Answers must be given within 30 seconds. If you take longer than 30 seconds your turn passes to the other team. It gets a chance to answer and get the points. The team which answers the most questions at the end of the game wins.
