«Три медведя» Read the story in the coursepack, pp. 104-112)    Then try to retell the basic plot of the story in 8-10 simple sentences in Russian. Use the text to help you, but try to make up your own sentences, too. Make a list of at least 20 key items that would be in a house or apartment (items of furniture, electronic devices, dishes and silverware, bathroom items, etc). Give the Russian for the items and, if appropriate, try to think of a key verb in Russian that goes with the item. For example, кресло, armchair, verb = сидеть, я сижу, ты сидишь, он сидит.

Watch «История СССР для детей» on the DVD with cartoons and be ready to discuss it. Try to write down key vocabulary that you hear from the video. You will likely need to watch it 2-3 times.
