Abstract
This article aims to explore key challenges and issues facing the management of information technology in modern universities. In defining the main problems in the management of IT processes in universities are presented results of an international survey of universities from Central and Eastern Europe "Challenges for IT Governqance in universities" (31.10-30.11.2016).
Анотация
Эта статья призвана изучить основные проблемы и проблемы, с которыми сталкивается управление информационных технологий в современных университетах. При определении основных проблем в области управления ИТ-процессов в университетах представлены результаты международного опроса университетов из Центральной и Восточной Европы «Вызовы для управления ИТ в университетах» (31.10-30.11.2016).

IT management in universities is the aggregate of organizational structure, institutional interactions and appropriate management practices that create a condition for effective management of information technology and infrastructure in universities, so that they contribute to the smooth running of the basic (education and science) and support (administrative and business) processes of the organization to achieve strategic and tactical goals and objectives of the institution, adding value and acquisition of strategic advantages in taking measured risk levels (Божинов, 2017).
In his study Bhattacharjya & Chang indicated that the most common problems faced by universities in the process of IT management associated with limited or no use of good manufacturing practices (standard COBIT and ITIL, ISO17799, etc.) (Bhattacharjya & Chang, 2006). …….
To define common issues facing university communities in the management of information technology in high school at the end of 2016 the author conducted an international survey among universities in Central and Eastern Europe. The study showed that in terms of expectations for changes in the use of IT services in universities expect the demand to grow over time (89% - Balkans, 91% - Bulgaria). If in the Balkan universities expect a moderate pace of change, in Bulgaria is expected to considerably more radical ones.
