1.  Письменные работы: англо-русский словник-глоссарий терминов по профессиональной тематике (350 слов и выражений), выделение ключевых идей текста (150 слов), аргументированный комментарий текста (200-250 слов), аргументированное эссе (200-300 слов), письмо-претензия (150 слов), тесты по пройденной лексике и грамматическим темам, составление профессионально-направленного портфолио (не менее 10 видов опубликованных текстов и различных письменных работ за курс обучения по дисциплине).

2.  Устные работы: презентации (устное выступление 8-10 минут), ролевые игры, «круглый стол – дебаты».

При выполнении студентами самостоятельной работы преподаватель осуществляет методическую поддержку и консультирование с использованием программ Skype, ICQ в режиме он-лайн и переписки по электронной почте.

From the history of petroleum

Environment Tops the Agenda

The British Government, plans to make the environment a priority for the British.

It identified three major environmental problems : transport and the environment, air pollution, hydro carbon usage control

Other initiatives were a campaign to encourage European cities to only allow access for clean vehicles and to develop the environmental dimension of other policies such as oil and gas exploration and agriculture.

"Climate change underlines the importance of the strategy for integrating environmental protection into all the Community's policies and activities".

There is now a need to set specific limits on carbon dioxide emissions, for each member state as there was a danger that some countries would do little to implement the agreement.

To reduce emissions particularly in the developing world and the US and an increase in the use of coal and gas in Britain could jeopardize the projected target for reducing emissions.

Additional EU should be to central and eastern European countries to help reduce pollution from heavy industries.

A manufacturing company's factory emits large quantities of smoke, fumes and oily smuts at varying times of the day and night. These emissions cause problems. The smoke causes residents in a nearby old people's home to develop coughs and colds. The fumes give great offence to all who use the public highway which adjoins the factory. The oily smuts damage the paint work of vehicles parked in the factory car park and those parked on the road outside the factory. Additionally, the oily smuts dirty the washing of nearby householders as it hangs out to dry in their gardens, so that the clothes often have to be re-washed and artificially dried at extra expense.
