Current state of world pricing fluctuation, tax burden, low rates and lower income as a consequence make growers’ lives troublesome as they cannot meet all the costs. In the week agricultural sector (bananas, tea, cocoa etc.), to sustain the environment growers ought to sign a long-term contract with development agencies and join the cooperatives. In return, they have a guaranteed minimum price, 10% social premium for suddenly increased prices and independence from the vicissitudes of life and nature.
From my standpoint, Fairtrade is quite a balanced system that guarantees decent fixed prices and it was witty to equalize the difference between prosperous plantations and less successful farms. However, there are still several doubtful points in the interview. The role of the cooperatives wasn’t enlightened enough, so apart from money distribution between farmers or the fact that 10% of extra income goes into a social fund to benefit the whole community, we can not name any other advantages.
Moreover, as it was said, small farmers can’t produce such quality food as larger plantations do. Even though the output grade was glorified by the interviewees, it’s still doubtful. Nevertheless, the fact of making a worthwhile contribution to the welfare of farmers and their families satisfies the majority of customers, because the opportunity to play an important role in somebody’s life attracts people.
To sum up, supporting insolvent growers the Fairtrade scheme puts paid to a relentless, at least in looks, situation in developing countries. Hardly could anyone imagine the possibility of a cost-effective compromise which would provide all of the three sides – manufacturers, suppliers and customers – with stable and mutually beneficial business conditions.

4. Beat the clock.
The main idea of the talk by Anita Chaundhury entitled “Beat the clock” is the changing tendency of HR specialists to make up their minds about a candidate for a job. The speaker has two main objectives. The first one is to give the listeners advice on how to succeed at a job interview, the second one is to discuss the role of intuition in decision making on the part of interviewers. Let us consider these issues in detail.
According to a recent study, the applicants’ previous experience or their CVs are becoming less interesting for a prospective employer. The speaker outlines that technology, methods and main tasks of work are changing so fast that it is no longer necessary to recruit people with today’s skills. The priority number one is the applicant’s personality. So, you may not be qualified for the job but at least you are a creative, dynamic person with whom it is interesting and convenient to work. Therefore, the advice of Anita Chaundhury is to show your personality and good inclinations at an interview as there is always an opportunity to gain the required experience.
More than that, the study shows that while a person is being interviewed, their personality and skills may be judged within minutes or even seconds. It’s underlined that even the way a person knocks the door, enters, shakes the hand of the interviewer matters. It is often the latter’s intuition or gut feeling that is responsible for the decision they make. Most employees claim that this strategy often works better than any other.
However, the speaker emphasizes, there should always be a place for cold objectivity. Both strong and weak sides of a candidate should be considered. Having a strong vibe to someone should not be the only reason for hiring an employee. Nowadays there are even special trainings available to teach HR specialists to limit the effect of the first impression.
In conclusion, the speaker brings forward an idea that the job interviews themselves might soon become an outmoded concept. In the future there might appear a new type of hiring people, which could bring work’s efficiency and productivity to a whole new level.

5. Your mind. Do you make the most of it?
The speaker in his lecture called “Your mind” concentrates on the hidden potential of our mind and the ways to improve our mental efficiency.
The lecturer has two main ideas: the first one is to bring forward an idea that we consistently underestimate our mental power and don’t make the most of it. The fact that we would remember a lot more if we had more confidence in our memories is pointed out. Moreover, the lecturer considers that all our experience and knowledge is somewhere in our memory and if we can’t remember something, it’s not our memory letting us down, but our ability to retrieve information from it. More than that, according to the speaker, even ageing doesn’t influence our memory negatively. It’s up to us to train our memory when we become older.
The second objective is to give the listeners some advice on how to improve their mental efficiency. The most significant of them are to establish your own learning rhythm and study when biologically you are at your best, to avoid learning marathons as regular breaks give memory a boost, to remember that challenge stimulates learning, while anxiety only interferes with it.
In conclusion the lecturer states that other people can provide you with information, but only you can learn it. So, it’s essential to use all effective ways such as revision, making notes, reworking the material and others in order to reproduce any information accurately and effectively whenever it is needed.
Дaннaя рaботa тaкжеㅤ может быть оцененa достaточноㅤ высоко, несмотря нa кaжущуюся простоту.
