Christmas is celebrated by Christians worldwide. Every Christmas morning my family eats a big breakfast before we open presents. Christmas is a magical time for me and I love it! (О, Рождество! The custom of putting a Christmas tree in homes has gained popularity not so long ago.
It is most likely connected with the love of the English to the decoration of the house by various evergreen plants. For the first time in England, the Queen Victoria and Prince Albert dressed in the Windsor Palace dressed up the Christmas tree, presenting it as a gift to children.
In the morning family go to church, and then they all gather together at a festive table. Before you sit down at the table, it is customary to blow up the "Christmas Cracker" - a cracker, in which there is always a joking message and a small souvenir.
And then everyone starts eating the Christmas crown dishes. A special Christmas bread is served on the table, decorated with greenery and ritual patterns. Bake it according to unique recipes. When the product is cut into pieces, all present must necessarily try at least a piece of treats. Then a good portion of bread is given to the poor, birds and pets. On this day, a turkey with vegetables is cooked and pudding is prepared. Before serving, sweet pudding is poured with cognac or rum and ignited.
At three o'clock in the afternoon, all England watches or listens to the Queen's message, broadcast on all radio stations and TV channels. Then follows the exchange of gifts, family gatherings, conversations and board games. As for gifts, much attention is paid to children. In beautiful boxes and colored paper even the smallest souvenirs are packed.
After the feast, many Englishmen take to the streets of cities and villages to continue the fun, congratulate friends, recharge yourself with positive and charge with the positive of all those around you, participate in the mass festivities.

Jim and Della
Jim and Della were two young people, husband and wife. They loved each other dearly. They lived in a small room in an old house in one of the dirty streets of New York. They worked from early morning till late at night, but they got very little money for their work. And still they had two things which were very dear to them – Jim’s watch and Della’s beautiful hair.
Christmas was coming and Della wanted to give Jim a nice present, but she had no money. She really didn’t know what to do. She sat on the sofa and began to ddenly an idea came to her. She got up and stood in front of the mirror and looked at her beautiful long hair. Then she left the house and in a few minutes she was already at hairdresser’s shop.
“Will you buy my hair?” she asked. The hairdresser looked at her hair and said, “Yes, I will. It’s fine hair. I can give you twenty dollars for it.” Della was very happy. She took the money and went to buy a present for her husband. In one of the shops she saw a very beautiful watch-chain. “I’ll buy it, Jim will be very glad,” she said to herself. “He needs a chain for his watch.”
So Della bought a gold watch-chain as a Christmas present for Jim. When she got home, Jim was already there waiting for her. He looked at his smiling little wife and understood everything.
“Why did you do it?” he asked.
“Dear Jim, my hair will grow and I wanted to give you a present. Here it is,” and she put the watch-chain into his hand.
The beautiful chain, Della’s present, was of no use to him. He had sold his gold watch to buy a Christmas present for his wife. He took a packet out of his pocket and gave it to Della. She opened it and saw two beautiful combs, the combs that she had seen in a shop window and had wanted for so long.
