Критерии оценки знаний, навыков / Grading Criteria
Home work. By the end of the 1st module each student will produce a 2-3 pages (3 000-5 000 symbols) paper that focuses on choosing global political actor with argumentations why it is global.
Essay. By the end of the 2nd module each student will produce a 10-15 page (15 000-20 000 symbols) research paper that focuses on the analysis of a global actor of student’s choice. Teacher evaluates how independently the has been done, how deep the topic is developed, how data collection and analysis were conducted, etc.
Written papers criteria:
1) Logical coherence
-Organize your thoughts and information in a clear order.
-State your observations and conclusions clearly.
-Use evidence to support your conclusions.
2) Engagement with course issues and concepts
-In every paper, make use of concepts/methods of analysis discussed in class.
-Be sure to incorporate at least three course readings/lectures into any research paper you write.
3) Quality of your particular analysis
-Try to make your paper interesting and unique.
-Try to go beyond simply re-stating someone else's argument or re-telling the information found elsewhere
-Always make sure that your paper ends with a clear and interesting conclusion
