Учитель: We make today a voyage to a magic country of HEALTH.

Уч.1: “Health is the greatest wealth” an English proverb says.

Уч.2: “Medicines are not to live on,” an another English proverb says. That’s true and we may add that good health is better than the best medicine. And if your health is good you are always in a good mood.

Учитель: How do you understand the words “a healthy way of living”?

Учитель: Well, we begin our voyage. On our way will be four stops. Take on the bus, please! We are living. The first stop is “THE STATION OF GOOD HABITS”

Учитель: Well done! I’m glad that you know much about the healthy way of life. But there are many other factors that influence our health. The fourth stop is “THE STATION OF THE HEALTHY FOOD”. There is a popular proverb that goes, “Eat to live not live to eat”. What it means?

Уч.3: People cannot live without food and animals, fish, birds and plants cannot live without food either.

Уч.4: Some kinds of food, like bread, sugar, meat, butter, cheese, rice, make you strong and give you energy. Meat, fish and milk help you grow. Vegetables, eggs, cornflakes make your bones and teeth strong. You must eat vegetables and fruit because they have got a lot of vitamins. Vitamins are important for your eyes, your skin, your bones, your hair and for other parts of your body.

Уч.5: In order to stay healthy it is important to have a balanced diet – in order words, food that contains something from each of the three main groups of food. Thee groups are protein, fat, and carbohydrates.

You find protein in lots of food, for example meat, fish, nuts, cheese and milk. It helps your body grow and be healthy and gives you energy.

Fat gives you energy but don’t eat a lot – it’s bad for you. There are a lot of fatty foods that come from animals, for example milk, cheese, butter and meat.

Carbohydrates give you more than 70% of your energy. Bread, pasta, cereals, fruits, and vegetables such as potatoes and cabbage all contain lots of carbohydrates.

Fruits, vegetables, beans and nuts, brown bread all have fibre. It doesn’t give you energy but it fills your stomach when you are hungry.

There are many different vitamins and minerals. They help your body be healthy. You can get all your vitamins and minerals from fresh fruit and vegetables.

Under 10 points: Oh dear! Your diet may cause health problems for you in the future, unless you change to a healthier one. You should pay more attention to your diet. You should eat more high fibre food, more vegetables and fruit. Prevention is better than cure. (Болезнь легче предупредить, чем лечить) Eat right food!
