Ход урока

I. Greeting/ the main idea of the lesson

T: – Good afternoon, everybody! I’m very glad to see you at the lesson. I hope you`ve spent your autumn holiday well/ and now you are ready to work with new forces.

You can see we have some guests at our lesson. They`d like to know how we can study together. That`s why imagine that you have the usual lesson.

First off all I want to start with refreshing safety rules during English lessons:

Don`t push each other Be careful with your school supplies Don`t be distructed and don`t distruct others Exactly follow the teacher`s instructions

The main aim of our lesson is to know what is healthy way of life. What we must do to live in healthy way. And revise our knowledge about degrees of comparison of adjectives. You will know something interesting and new for you. I hope that our cooperation will be important and useful for you and for me. You know that your health is in your own hands. Thousands years ago ancient Greeks said: “The first wealth is health. Health is the best wealth”. These words will be a redline of today’s lesson.

НЕ нашли? Не то? Что вы ищете?

II. Phonetics.

T: There is a phonetic exercise that is useful to remember.
Look at the blackboard.
It is a tongue twister which consists of two proverbs. Listen and repeat

The first wealth is health.

Health is the best wealth.

So as you see the topic of our lesson is “Health is the best wealth".

III. Lexica.

Now I propose you to help me to discuss the cluster on the board and add to it more points.

In ex.4a on p.48 we can find more information which help us to make our life healthier. Let`s divide this text for each of you. And you have two-three minutes to look through and add some points to our cluster.

Now you can go to the board and write more components of healthy lifestyle:

Laugh and smile Do nothing/relax Stretch Challenge yourself Do something you love Positive emotions Feel good about yourself

IV. Physical training

T: I see you are tired. Let’s relax.
Raise your hands when you hear words about good habits:

No smoking, no drinking,
No running, stop thinking.
Work all day, play all night,
Always love, never fight.
Come early, don’t be late,
Try to be good, don’t hate.
Eat apples, drink juice,
Never think about bad news.

T.: You see that it is not very difficult to follow healthy lifestyle. Never forget that “Health is the best wealth”.

V. Grammar

Now let`s leave our lexical material and move on to grammar. You know the rule of degrees of comparison of adjectives.

There are three degrees of comparison: positive, comparative and superlative. We take adjective for the first degree. We must add the suffix –er to adjective for the comparative degree and the definite article with suffix –est for the superlative degree.

For example: nice-nicer-the nicest

If we have a compound adjective we must change the suffixes to the words more and the most for appropriate degrees.

For example: positive – more positive – the most positive

I`ve hoped you refreshed your knowledge. Let`s move on to our main topic of the lesson.

In ex. 4b we have a proposal to take 5 tips from our cluster, which are most important to follow. But you must prove why you think so.

You can use adjectives from the box in ex.5 on p.49

Well done. Good for you.

VI. Reflextion

There are some minutes to go we still have some time left. You should agree or disagree with the statements on these sheets of paper.

Agree or disagree with my statements:
Smoking is a bad habit.

Eating too much sweet is good for your health.
Drinking too much alcohol is a healthy habit.
Eating in time is bad for health.

Do exercises is bad for health.

Work a lot is good for your health.

Playing computer games is a good habit.

Go to bed in time is a good habit.

Eating fruit and vegetables is bad for your health.

VII. Hometask
T: I think you agree with me if a person wants to be healthy he should have health habits. Your hometask is ex.6 on p.49 in writing. Your marks are…

T: Our time is up. I hope we have convinced each other to follow a healthy way of life. Thank you for your work. See you tomorrow.
