E. With children, cartoon channels are the most popular. No wonder — children in all times and in all countries have always loved cartoons. Producers say that sometimes making a cartoon is even more difficult than shooting a feature film. Most cartoons are made by photographing a series of drawings. Nowadays computers help the cartoonists a lot but only a couple of decades ago all the drawings were done manually.
F. Not only technology but everything about TV has changed a lot over the recent decades. The first TV sets looked like large boxes with huge tubes and, in comparison with modern standards, very little screens. Sometimes there was
a special glass in front of the screen to make the broadcast image larger. The picture was black and white, unstable but still... people accepted it as a miracle. In those days it was difficult to believe that moving images could be transmitted over long distances.
G. The transmission of television images is comprised of several stages: scanning the image, transmitting the image and reproducing the image. The complicated broadcasting system was definitely not invented by one person — lots of brilliant scientists made their own contribution to it. That's why it's practically impossible to give one or even several names — the list is too long.

The history of insurance People find it useful Types of insurance How it works Thieves still exist Don't belittle the risk How to prevent the risk Suitcase goes missing but the holiday goes on Agencies can provide you with different types of insurance: you can get life insurance or accident insurance, car insurance or boat insurance, homeowner's insurance or travel insurance, and lots of other kinds of insurance policies. You can insure your employment, your bank account, your pets or even parts of your body. Whatever you want can be made the subject of insurance. The idea of insurance is to take some precautions if there is a risk of losing something. You pay the insurance company some money just in case this loss happens. If it does happen, the company pays you back, usually a considerably larger sum, which helps you survive through the difficult time. The risk should be small otherwise no company will agree to insure you.C. The oldest type of insurance is probably travel insurance. Ancient merchants had to travel long distances to trade their goods. The money for the trade expedition was often borrowed to be paid back with some interest. It was a risky business — camel caravans and ships could be lost in deserts and at sea, the goods could be stolen ordestroyed. The merchants usually paid some extra money against the guarantee that if thecaravan was lost, the money lender wouldn't demand his money back.
D."Travelling has become much safer now but still..." This is what Adam Brown, the owner of the insurance agency Safe Travel says: "When we travel, we can face unexpected events. First of all, we can become ill or have an accident while travelling. The risk is rather high, especially in exotic countries. There are also tropical diseases. Snakes and mosquitoes inhabit the most beautiful islands. So, if you become ill or injured, your travel insurance will provide financial support. That is, the agency will pay for your treatment.
E. Also, your luggage can be lost while travelling and unfortunately this happens a lot. Can you imagine life in a foreign city without the most essential clothes and personal things? However, if your lost or damaged luggage has been insured, your travel insurance will financially cover the property that has been lost, orat least part of it.
With that money you can buy everything necessary and your holiday wont be ruined.
And last but not least, your luggage or money can be stolen. It's not a very good idea to wait till the police find it. It may take too long. Call the agency and the company will pay for the damage done. Then let the police do their job while you are enjoying your holiday." Adam Brown has been in the insurance business for more than fifteen years and the number of his clients is growing. It's growing, he thinks, because when people are on holiday, they want relaxation not a struggle. Travel insurance helps them to feel safe and enjoy the holiday even when something goes wrong.Text | A | В | С | D | E | F | G |
