2a. Read the text:

The Dark Side of Berlin Dining

The shutters are down. The curtains are drawn. The «Last Supper» restaurant looks closed. But diners are streaming in. They take their seats at tables decked with dark cloths. The doors are locked. Then the lights go out. This is no power cut, it is the latest experiment on Berlin’s restaurant scene. Guests cannot even see the plate in front of them, let alone their neighbour. After a few nervous laughter as eyes adjust to the darkness, the participants dig into their starters. Diners try to guess what they are eating – “Cauliflower!” says one. “No, it must be broccoli”, says another. But diners do not know what they are eating. Most start out cautiously. Then they throw caution to the wind. Infra-red camera footage shows well-dressed businessmen eating with their fingers and even pick up their plates and lap them like cats.

“I got the idea from a good friend whose mother used to make surprise meals, then bind the eyes of the children and get them to guess what they were eating,” said Udo Einenkel, the proprietor. “We design our food very carefully, choosing crisp vegetables and fresh flavours that explode in the mouth. But we don’t serve soup. That is too risky.”
