4. PRODUCTION ACTIVITIES

4.1. Types of Production Activities

Open Joint-Stock Company TGC-9 carries out the following operations:

o  generation of heat and electric power;

o  supplies (sales) of heat and electric power;

o  procurement (purchasing) of heat and electric power on the wholesale market for electrical energy (capacity);

o  undertaking of works defining the parallel operation conditions in accordance with the modes of the Unified Energy System of Russia within the framework of contractual relationships;

o  provision of power equipment operation in accordance with the active regulatory requirements, performance of its quality and timely repair, technical modernization and energy facilities reconstruction;

o  operation of the energy facilities which are not on the balance of the Company in accordance with the contracts with the energy facilities owners;

o  supervision of safe maintenance of electric and heat energy installations of consumers connected to electric and heat networks of the Company;

o  establishing of energy saving operational modes of the power plant equipment, maintenance of energy supply modes in accordance with the agreements;

o  energy supply of the consumers connected to electric and heat power lines of the Company in accordance with the agreements concluded;

o  implementation of new techniques and technologies to provide operational efficiency, safety and ecological compatibility of the Company facilities;

o  activities on heat power lines operation;

o  operation of explosive hazardous industrial facilities;

o  operation of fire hazardous industrial facilities;

o  operation and maintenance of the facilities of Gosgortechnadzor (State Committee for Industrial and Mining Safety Supervision);

o  upkeep of buildings and facilities;

o  metrological support of production operations;

o  activities on internal gas circuits operation;

o  activities on measuring devices maintenance

o  activities connected with environment protection projects

o  activities connected with environmental impact, protection and natural resources utilization, industrial waste storage and transportation.

o  design and estimate, survey, scientific-research and engineering activities

o  logistic services

o  training and knowledge assessment in respect of regulations, standards and instructions on servicing, work safety, industrial safety and fire protection

o  communication equipment development and communication service rendering

o  oil and oil products storage

o  activities on hazardous waste handling

o  other types of activities.

The power produced by the plants of OJSC TGC-9 in 2010 amounted to 14,060,000,000 kWh or 97.2% as compared to 2010, including 13,950,000,000 kWh produced by heat power plants and 110,000,000 kWh – by hydraulic power plants. The power production drop to the level of the last year is related to leasing of Kizel HPP to Kizel HPP CJSC and CHPP load relief under the operations schedule due to low power demand as a result of power market conditions. The heat output from the collectors in 2011 amounted to 37,530,000 Gcal or 94.2% as compared to the last year. Reduction of heat output resulted from Kizel HPP-3 CJSC operations as a separate entity and higher average air temperature.
