Напряженный день

Стив был очень занят сегодня. К 10.15 он уже сделал 11 телефонных звонков. К четверти двенадцатого он написал три отчета. В 12 он приехал в аэропорт Хифроу, он за неделю до этого договорился о встрече с представителем Британских авиалиний. Представитель в конце концов приехал без четверти час. Интервью длилось до половины второго. В 2.15 у Стива была другая встреча в городе. К трем часам Стив ещё не пообедал, поэтому он купил бутерброд с сыром. Наконец он закончил работать полседьмого, уставший и голодный. Он предвкушал хороший ужин дома. Но когда он прибыл домой, Джил уже ушла. На столе для него была записка: «Ушла. Бутерброды с сыром в холодильнике».

Steve was very busy at the office today. At 10.15 he had already made eleven phone 11.15 he had written three separate reports. At 12 o'clock he arrived at Heathrow Airport — the week before, he had arranged an interview with a British Airways representative. The representative finally arrived at 12.45. The interview lasted till 1.30. Аt 2.15 Steve had another appointment in town. At 3 o'clock he still hadn't had any lunch, so he bought a cheese sandwich. He finally finished work at 6.30, tired and hungry. He was looking forward to a good dinner at home. But when he arrived home, Jill had gone out. There was a note for him on the table: "Gone out. Cheese sandwiches in the fridge".
