The winners get prises.

Tim: Here is a funny game for teams. If anybody likes to have got his own experience so you can do it after our competition.

Funny starts

Put a boiled egg into spoon. Try to bring it without any trouble to the board. Then put it on the table that is near the board. There are two boxes with letters on the table. Take a necessary letter from the box and put it on the board. Then run fast back and give the spoon to the next boy or girl of your team. This member of the team runs to the board. Then he takes from the box of letters another right letter and put it on the board. Then he takes the egg, put it into his spoon and runs back to the next member of your team. He repeats the previous action. Every team has to complete the word. You can see that the boards are opposite each other.

Dear friends, I wish you success!

Tim: Would you like to have got one more task? As English people say, «He who would search for pearls must dive below». (Кто хочет искать жемчуг, должен нырять. Без труда не вытащишь рыбки из пруда). And our «perl» for today is this wonderful apple pie. Look at it once more. It will give you more strength. And now is our next task. Can you tell poetically about food and meals? Then try to do it. Everybody can try to write something nice or funny on today's topic.

Examples:

We don't like rice, we like apple pies.

Do you like rice, Sveta? Or apple pies are better?

You like chips and I like fish.

That is my favourite dish.

Is it possible to eat day and night, night and day?

Yes, if you are a giant from a children's tale.

What is dangerous to eat?

Can you tell me, dear Pete?

Everything is right and yummy.

Are you going to feed me, mummy.

Just a minute, dear sonnie!

There is a time for all things

Leader 1 (Lena): Hello, dear friends! Nick and Lena, we are today with you. We are pleased to welcome you in our hall. It is time to begin our meeting.

Leader 2 (Nick): Nice to meet again, dear friends.

Lena: Time, time, time, every day we can hear this word for many times. Well, Nick, what does it mean, time? Do you know?

НЕ нашли? Не то? Что вы ищете?

Nick: Be sure, every child can answer this easy question. Time is money.

Lena: You see, my friends! The easy answer to easy question. Does everybody think in the same way? What does time mean for you, Alex?

Alex: First of all, the word time means for school time. And it means my studies, my lessons. It is very important in my life. I would like to reach much in my life. I am going to learn not one but two foreign languages.

Lena: What a good idea! How clever of you! I wish you success! And what is about you, Olga?

Olga: Time is a very valuable thing for me. If I speak about time, I always think about saving time. Many famous people recommended to save time. Time passes too quickly. So we must value it. If you don't waste your time, you can do a lot of useful things in your life.

Lena: I agree with you. As one of the English proverbs says, «Time flies». And what other English proverbs and sayings do you know?

Pupils: Time lost cannot be won again.

To save time is to lengthen life.

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

There is no time like present.

Lost time is never found again.

Everything has its time.

Lena: Oh, the last proverb is great. What do you think about it, Nick?

Nick: I think that there is time for work, I mean our lessons, and there is time foe rest as well. We can't work and work without any rest.

Lena: I can add, that working hard we do everything we must we use less time. So we can save a part of our time. And we get our free time. What do you think about spending of our free time, Nelly?

Nelly: I am sure we can spend our free time in the best way. I mean our hobbies.

Lena: And how do you save time for your hobbies?

Nelly: First of all I have got my time table. And I try to do my best following this time table.

Lena: And you, Pete, what do you usually do in order not to lose a minute of your time? Of course, if I am right about saving of your time.

Pete: You are absolutely right. First of all, it doesn't take me a long time to do my homework. During my school years I learned my lessons well. So I am not the last pupil in our class. Then I have got my time table, as Nelly has got. I'd like to add that I am an early riser. I can't sleep till the last minute before school. So I begin my working day early in the morning.

Nick: Good for you, Pete. Frankly speaking, I can't do the same. I have been trying for many times, but without any results.

Pete: Don't lose your hope. And everything will be all right. And don't stop with your trying. I wish you good luck.

Nick: Thank you. And I understand that I lose a lot of interesting time in my life. But I know that for many of you, dear friends, that is not the problem to be solved. You have already saved your time for doing interesting and useful things. We are ready today for listening to you. How do you spend your out-of-school time?

Pete: As for me, you know, I go in for sports. Our school gym is fully-equipped. So we have a chance to be not only good sportsmen, but to stay healthy as long as possible. From time to time we help the teachers to organize the moving breaks for our pupils. Here is one of them. Let us do it together.

Moving activities

Are you ready to move, dear friends?

Shake your hands, shake your hands.

Are you ready to swim in the pool?

I can swim and I swim as a rule.

Are you ready to skip, dear girls?

I have learned to do it after all.

Would you like to have got a straight back?

Exercise, exercise back and neck.

Would you like to be strong, to be slim?

Exercises can help, dear Tim.

Would you like to be healthy after all?

So, play tennis, football, basketball.

Do you go in for sports, dear friend?

As for me I last year began.

Follow me, follow, much and run.

I am sure will have lots of fun!

Nick: Thank you, Pete. It was interesting and useful. Be sure, some of the pupils are ready to follow you.

Lena: I know that some of our pupils stay on at school after lessons. What do they do there? Does anybody like to answer?

Olga: I am such a pupil. After lessons I go to our library. You see, I am fond of reading. Our library is not very large, but is very cozy. It is full of interesting books. There in the library I have learned a lot of about my favourite writer A. S. Pushkin. Besides him, I am fond of learning the life of great Britons, Charles Dickens, for example. You see, I am a member of our school club «WHAT? WHERE? WHEN?». And I have to practice my mind and knowledge. Different kinds of quizes and brain teasers are very interesting and useful for every mind. And for my my as well. So I have to read a lot of books, magazines, to watch TV programmes and so on. I can't say I read only for knowledge. I read for pleasure too. Books help us not only in self - education, they help us in deciding some problems of our life.

Lena: You are quite right, Olga. You don't waste your time. It is full of sense. And what is about interesting facts and situations? Can you offer a brain teaser for us?
